Welcome to the York Contemporary Artists Crit Group, a safe and supportive space for visual artists based in York to engage in valuable peer feedback and discussion. This exclusive event is designed to enhance your creative practice and foster connections with other local artists.
During the session, each participant will have the opportunity to share one piece of artwork with the group. If you are unable to bring the physical piece, feel free to bring a print or a photograph on your laptop. To ensure ample time for feedback, we will divide into smaller groups.
There are two options for receiving feedback: a silent crit or a brief presentation. In the silent crit, you won't provide any context for your work, allowing the group to openly discuss their interpretations. Alternatively, you can give a concise presentation and ask specific questions to gain valuable external perspectives.
Each participant will have 20 minutes for their critique, and we will take a 15-minute break for tea and biscuits, courtesy of our hosts at Pica Studios.
