Join the 2nd Annual I Heart Tennis and Pickleball Tournament for a night of fun and support for the American Heart Association. Heart disease affects many individuals, and this event aims to combat the leading cause of death by utilizing passion for tennis and pickleball. This is a great opportunity to make a difference and show your love for these sports. Limited spaces are available, so don't miss out! Open to both men and women, the tournament will consist of doubles matches only. If you cannot attend, you can still contribute by making a donation. Each session costs $50.00, with all proceeds going to the AHA. To avoid state taxes, simply enter $50.00 in the ticket option for the desired session. If you wish to make an additional donation, select the donation ticket. Warm-up begins at 4:00 pm for the first session, while the second session check-in starts at 6:00 pm. Prizes will be awarded to first-place winners in each session. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase, and food and drinks will be provided once the games are over. Taking place at the Glendale Narrows Riverwalk in Glendale, this guided walk will allow you to explore the emotional impact of the River and the surrounding watershed. Led by poets Nancy Lynée Woo and Mike the Poet, this event is part of a community-led, multi-disciplinary art project that aims to reflect on the LA River, climate change, social justice, and the emotional interconnectivity of these phenomena. During the walk, participants will have the opportunity to learn about river ecosystems and site histories from poets, artists, Indigenous Culture Bearers, and ecologists. Through prompts and personal insights, you can unleash your creative side and write about your connection to nature and self. The experience will conclude with a supportive opportunity to share your work. Under the guidance of Susan Burke, a seasoned stand-up performer, comedy writer, and teacher, your child will have the opportunity to develop their stand-up comedy skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
