Using polystyrene as their canvas, attendees will have the chance to carve their unique designs into the material using a range of tools, including a blunt pencil. Additionally, the workshop will explore the technique of chine collé, where images are transferred onto a surface bonded to a heavier support during the printing process. All necessary printing materials will be provided, ensuring a hassle-free experience. While it is encouraged for participants to contemplate the theme of their print in advance, it is not mandatory. Inspired by the diverse mediums showcased in our current Art Fair exhibition, this workshop offers a glimpse into the artistic possibilities within our creative community. Please note that under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Concessions are available for SLaM service users, people over 60, students, individuals receiving ESA, registered disabled individuals, and their carers. Join The Bethlem Gallery for an exciting workshop on album cover design in the gallery studio space. This workshop is a part of the exhibition that will feature a vinyl album with music and songs by talented musicians and artists from the Bethlem community. The album will be available for purchase during the exhibition.
Led by the renowned Artist Taxi Driver, this event will also include artist Peter Harris and Warren from the band Meatraffle, who will share their valuable insights and experiences in designing album covers. Drawing inspiration from other Bethlem Artists, participants will have the opportunity to create their own unique album cover using various techniques such as painting, collage, or printing. All necessary materials will be provided.
Peter Harris, known for his collaborations with Lee 'Scratch' Perry, brings a wealth of expertise in album cover design. Warren, a seasoned musician, will offer valuable insights based on his own album production experiences.
