Recovery Empowerment Network is thrilled to announce the upcoming Under the Surface 5k Block Party. This highly anticipated event, now in its fifth year, will take place on March 2nd at Foothills Park in Glendale, Arizona. The theme for this year's event is "Under the Surface," highlighting the profound impact nature can have on emotional well-being. The proceeds from the event will go towards enhancing Project: Open Sky, a program that provides invaluable wilderness experiences and skills training to community members who struggle with mental health challenges.
Although the event is titled a "5k," it is much more than just a run or walk. It is a vibrant community celebration that welcomes everyone, even those not participating in the athletic portion. Festivities will include music, games, challenges with exciting prizes, and a variety of kids activities, such as bounce houses, egg hunts, and circus games. Local vendors will be present, along with silent auctions and raffles offering super fun SWAG. And who can resist the sweet indulgence of cotton candy and the cozy warmth of a s'mores station?
Pets are encouraged to join in on the fun, making it a true community affair. The event aims to support mental health services in the area, providing essential resources and assistance to those in need. Registration begins at 9:00 AM, and the walk starts promptly at 10:00 AM.
Tickets for the Under the Surface 5k Block Party include race entry, an REN Adventure Cape, and a custom medal. Spectators are welcome to attend the event free of charge. For those unable to attend in person, there is the option to join the virtual 5k and have the rewards shipped directly.
Join us at Foothills Park on March 2nd as we come together to support mental health services in our community. The Under the Surface 5k Block Party promises to be an unforgettable experience, combining the power of nature with community spirit. From everyone at Recovery Empowerment Network, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for your support.
