Old Crows Promotions Presents: Slow Crush / Som / Virgins Old Crows Promotions are pleased to present Slow Crush for their first ever headline dates in Ireland. Supported by the mighty 'doom-pop' SOM and Irish shoegazers, Virgins. Slow Crush Slow Crush are a band that thrives on evolution. After their acclaimed debut Aurora—dubbed by Stereogum as “phenomenal” and “one of the best shoegaze albums of all time”—they toured relentlessly, building a global fanbase drawn to their immersive, swirling soundscapes. Their second album Hush continued their ascent, leading to sold-out shows and international acclaim. New music took a back seat for a while as the band focused on life on the road, but the four-year gap between Hush and their latest release brought fresh perspective and creative renewal. When it came time to record, vocalist / bassist Isa Holliday, guitarist Jelle Ronsmans, and drummer Frederik Meeuwis headed to The Ranch in Southampton, UK, to work with producer Lewis Johns (Rolo Tomassi, Svalbard,…). Johns pushed the band beyond their usual boundaries, encouraging experimentation and spontaneity—from glitchy textures and kitchen-recorded snare hits to the unexpected addition of saxophone on the track “Covet.” This spirit of transformation runs throughout the new record. Sonically, it’s heavier and more layered, contrasting dreamy vocals with gritty guitars, capturing a new emotional intensity. Isa dug deeper than ever before in her lyrics and vocal performance, exploring themes of emotional burnout, reconnection, and the push-pull of life on and off the road. At its core, the album reflects a desire for clarity and emotional truth—balancing heaviness with intimacy. It’s a record about being tethered yet weightless, lost yet searching, and above all, embracing music as a space for stillness, reflection, and transcendence. “We want people to feel embraced by the music,” Isa says. “To let go and be taken somewhere else—into another dimension, even. A place where they can just be present.” SOM SOM released their third full-length album, Let The Light In , on March 14th 2025 via Berlin left-field label Pelagic Records . With a unique sound dubbed “Doom Pop” by Metal Injection, SOM’s dreamy shoegaze roots are on display across Let The Light In , but there is heft at its core that’s bracing and ferocious. If the band’s debut album The Fall explored hitting rock bottom, and sophomore release The Shape of Everything grappled with the ever-darkening world around us, Let The Light In sees SOM turn their sights inward, towards our most primal impulses; seeking solace and reconciliation from the vibrancy within ourselves and the people we hold close. Virgins Virgins have rapidly become one of Ireland’s most promising alternative acts. Their 2022 EP ‘ Transmit a Little Heaven ’ sold out its vinyl pressing, and their debut album ‘ Nothing Hurt and Everything Was Beautiful ’ followed with another sell out, garnering praise across major press and radio, including making the short list for the NI Music Prize Album of the Year.On new single ' b l o o m s ' the band redefine their sound while exploring new emotional depths and expanding their sonic palette. Produced by Simon Francis (The Japanese House, Kylie Minogue, Ellie Goulding) and mastered by Slowdive’s Simon Scott, the track features shimmering verses that explode into swirling choruses, accented by reverse delays and glide guitar. The euphoria inducing crescendo of fuzz and siren vocals releases the pressure valve of tension cultivated throughout the track.'b l o o m s' has already caught the sharpened ears of John Kennedy of RadioX, marked as one on Joe.ie's Top Tracks of the Week, Clash, Hot Press, Golden Plec, Notion, Ones To Watch, Stephen McAuley on BBC Radio Foyle, RTE 2XM and selected as Dan Hegarty's Track of the Week for RTE2fm.Festival appearance at Other Voices Wales, Stendhal, a headline slot at GazeFest alongside UK and Irish tours and supports with Bleach Lab, BDRMM, New Pagans, Sign Crushes Motorist solidified the band as ones to watch. Arts Film
Chamber Films will showcase the classic and the curious, the weird, the wired and wonderfully askew. There’s no theme, no thesis, no seam running through these films, unless there is. The subconscious is a hell of a film programmer. Sisters Dir. Brian De Palma. 1972. Starring Margot Kidder, Jennifer Salt, William Finley. Margot Kidder is conjoined French Canadian twins. Or is she? William Finley is her frankly unlikely husband. Or is he? Jennifer Salt is the progressive journalist who witnesses a murder in the apartment opposite. Or does she? Yes, she does. That one’s pretty certain, as we see the murder take place. But will anyone believe her? And who, exactly, is the murderer? That too will be explained through the myriad twists and turns of this sophisticated essay on Hitchcockian voyeurism. There is split screen here, a series of Hitchcock homages – Bernard Herrmann is on scoring duty – and the peculiar sense of humour that reached its apotheosis in his next film, 1974’s hysterical Phantom of the Paradise. But this film is perhaps the first flowering of De Palma’s later obsessions and, tempered by a youthful satirical bent, his most interesting and personal film. Belfast Indigenous and Inclusive Fashion Festival Celebrating Diversity, Creativity, and Identity in the Heart of Belfast Produced by Fashion Speaks International, in partnership with Lady Rebel Club, International Indigenous Fashion Week, AmA Imagery, and We Roar Magazine. Lady Rebel Club will showcase BIIFF as part of their 1-Day Rebellion entrepreneurial & creative festival and will be showcasing it virtually. All ticket sales will be paid to Fashion Speaks International. Nestled along the banks of the River Lagan, the city of Belfast is renowned for its rich history, vibrant culture, and welcoming spirit. In recent years, Belfast has emerged as a progressive hub for the arts, innovation, and creativity, making it an ideal location for groundbreaking events. Among its most exciting new gatherings is the Belfast Indigenous and Inclusive Fashion Festival—a celebration that transcends mere style and becomes a canvas for storytelling, empowerment, and community. A Festival Rooted in Diversity The Belfast Indigenous and Inclusive Fashion Festival stands as a beacon of pluralism and creativity, inviting participants and audiences from near and far to experience the intersection of heritage and haute couture. More than an exhibition, this festival is a living, breathing celebration of traditions and identities often overlooked in mainstream fashion. Here, indigenous designers and advocates for inclusivity present their stories—woven into garments, stitched into accessories, and embodied in runway performances. From the moment guests arrive, they are enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and possibility. Belfast’s vibrant streets become the backdrop for a transformative experience, where the beauty of difference is honoured and the uniqueness of each individual is celebrated. Indigenous Design: Honouring Heritage Central to the festival is the spotlight on indigenous fashion—a realm where artistry, history, and resilience intersect. Attendees will marvel at collections crafted by designers who draw inspiration from their ancestral roots, using traditional techniques and motifs to create garments that tell powerful stories. · Textile Traditions: From intricate beadwork and handwoven fabrics to naturally sourced dyes, indigenous fashion is a testament to centuries-old craftsmanship. Designers from Indigenous communities across North America share pieces that echo the landscapes, legends, and lives of their ancestors. · Cultural Narratives: Each garment is more than clothing—it is a narrative thread that links past to present. Whether it’s a cloak inspired by and crafted by First Nations artisans, the festival showcases the depth and diversity of indigenous artistry. · Sustainable Innovation: Many indigenous designers champion sustainable practices, using local materials and ethical production methods. Their commitment to environmental stewardship offers a poignant reminder that fashion can be both beautiful and responsible. Inclusive Fashion: Celebrating All Identities In addition to honouring indigenous heritage, the Belfast Indigenous and Inclusive Fashion Festival is a dynamic platform for inclusive fashion. The runway here is open to all—celebrating the myriad identities, body types, abilities, and experiences that make up our global community. · Diverse Models: The festival’s casting reflects a commitment to representation. Models of different backgrounds, ages, sizes, and genders take to the stage, challenging conventional notions of beauty and expanding the definition of who can grace the catwalk. · Accessible Design: Designers showcase adaptive clothing and wearable technology that cater to people with disabilities, ensuring fashion is accessible and empowering for everyone. · Gender-Inclusive Expression: The collections highlight garments that defy binary norms, inviting participants to explore personal identity and self-expression through style. Why Attend? · Inspiration: Witness the fusion of tradition and innovation on the runway. Be inspired by the courage and creativity of designers who are rewriting fashion’s narrative. · Education: Gain insight into the histories and cultures that shape indigenous and inclusive fashion. Equip yourself with knowledge about responsible consumerism and advocacy. · Connection: Meet like-minded individuals who share a passion for style, sustainability, and social justice. Build lasting relationships in an environment that celebrates difference and fosters creativity. · Celebration: Experience the joy of belonging to a global community that honours every voice, every tradition, and every vision. The Heart of Belfast: A City Embracing Change Belfast itself is an integral part of the festival’s story. With its historic streets, thriving arts scene, and commitment to inclusivity, the city provides a welcoming home for an event that champions diversity. Local landmarks—such as the Titanic Belfast, City Hall, and the Cathedral Quarter—serve as picturesque backdrops, while cafes and galleries buzz with anticipation and discussion. The festival’s presence in Belfast is a testament to the city’s evolution. Once marked by division, Belfast now stands as a symbol of reconciliation and hope. The Indigenous and Inclusive Fashion Festival plays a vital role in this journey, inviting all to participate in a future built on respect, creativity, and shared humanity. Looking Forward: Fashion as a Force for Good Fashion, at its best, is a force that unites and uplifts. The Belfast Indigenous and Inclusive Fashion Festival embodies this ideal, offering a space where stories are told, communities are strengthened, and new visions take flight. As the event draws to a close, participants leave with new friendships, but with a deeper appreciation for the richness of human experience. The festival serves as a call to action—urging all who attend to support indigenous and inclusive fashion, to celebrate diversity in all its forms, and to carry forward the lessons of empathy and empowerment into everyday life. Join Us in Belfast! Whether you are a designer, a model, an advocate, or simply a lover of fashion, the Belfast Indigenous and Inclusive Fashion Festival welcomes you with open arms. Come and be part of a celebration that honours heritage, champions inclusivity, and ignites creativity. Mark your calendar, invite your friends, and prepare to be inspired. Belfast awaits—ready to showcase the brilliance of indigenous and inclusive fashion, and to remind us all of the beauty found in embracing every tradition and identity. Mick Flannery & Susan O'Neill In late February 2020, Mick Flannery and Susan O’Neill appeared live on The Late Late Show in Ireland to perform their stand-out song Baby Talk , which was released the following week. The performance sparked a creative connection between the two artists that would soon grow into something much bigger. Soon after, Mick and Susan began writing and recording together, ultimately creating a full album of original songs. The result, In the Game , was released in September 2021 to widespread acclaim. It debuted at No. 1 on the Irish Independent Albums Chart, remained in or near the Top 20 for several weeks, and went on to become the biggest-selling record in Ireland by a non-major label in 2021. Mick and Susan took In the Game on the road throughout 2022, touring extensively across Europe and North America. Their performances captivated audiences, with the album’s songs forming the backbone of a moving, timeless narrative about the life of musicians—on stage and off, in love and in struggle. In the Game has since become a cherished record both in Ireland and abroad, where it continues to find new listeners. Now, five years after that first performance, Mick Flannery and Susan O’Neill return to the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable evening. “Superb” Clash Magazine “Sorrowful Masterpiece” American Songwriter "I love this fucking record" Phoebe Bridgers ★★★★ “Two stars are reborn” The Irish Times 9/10 “Electrifying energy” Hot Press ★★★★ “Exquisite” Sunday Business Post ★★★★ “Seductive, beautiful crafted album” The Sunday Times ★★★★“..his gravelly tones and her soulful vocals are a perfect match”Mail on Sunday (Album of the week)★★★★ “Overwhelmingly beautiful and pure.”- Written in Music “Think an Irish gothic take on Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra – or Nick and Kylie’s Where The Wild Roses Grow with a dash of Flann O’Brien” The Irish Examiner Information Source: Music Capital | eventbrite
