Saturday 12th October 2024 For families with children aged 6 to 12 11am - 12pm Free* *A £5 deposit is required to secure your space which can be refunded to you on the day, or left as a donation to the Outreach & Exhibition programme of Mission Gallery. Join us for a bilingual family workshop where you create a painting responding to various music genres through mark making, layering and colour! This workshop will be led by artist Owain Sparnon and delivered in English and welsh. The session will provide a safe, creative space for families who are learning welsh or who would enjoy the opportunity to practice. In partnership with the children’s 2024 BEEP painting prize All materials will be provided. Due to our venue’s capacity, spaces are limited. If you book onto one of our workshops we would ask you to honour your commitment to attend. We aim for our workshops to be as accessible as possible, but would ask that you make a donation on the day if you can. Please consider contributing if you are able to support the future workshop and education programmes at Mission Gallery. Once a month drop-in sessions for adults that are suitable for everyone. You don’t need any previous experience in contact improv or contemporary dance; the sessions are open to all abilities. As the class runs on a drop-in basis, each class is stand-alone so you don’t need to attend a series of sessions, just come as and when you want to. The workshops run on the last Saturdays of the month; 10am-12pm in the dance studio at Gloucester Guildhall. The workshops are led by Lizzie Hewitt, who has been teaching for 14 years. The artist’s paintings are informed by the disturbing reports about the harmful impacts of industrial mining processes on food production, human health and local biodiversity in Katanga in the Central part of the DRC, to where Kamuanga’s father and mother both trace their origins. The event will take place in the gallery’s ground floor and has disabled access. About Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga. Kamuanga’s work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the Saatchi Gallery, UK; Kunsthaus, Graz, Austria; Frist Art Museum, Nashville, TN, USA; Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Birmingham, UK; and the Royal Academy of Arts, London, UK. Decorate the houses in a festive and unique way ! Be sure to pop in a window for others to enjoy or place as the centerpiece of your room. All materials will be provided. Due to our venue’s capacity, spaces are limited. If you book onto one of our workshops we would ask you to honour your commitment to attend.
