RIPCORDZ (Montreal, QC) Founded in 1980 and still going strong. You could call us Old School Punk, but we prefer to call ourselves a Rock n Roll Band in Heavy Disguise. Almost made it to 3000 shows, all but a dozen in Canada. Sixteen albums deep with a new one coming out this Spring called "More Songs You'll Never Hear on Spotify Because Fuck Those Guys." HIPPIECRITZ (Kelowna, BC) We Came in second at a battle of the bands in 2003. Now give us all your money. NO COMPLY (Kelowna, BC) Hailing from the gritty streets of Kelowna, No Comply is a hardcore punk rock band that lives and breathes raw energy, rebellion, and a relentless DIY spirit. Formed by four like-minded individuals—Randal The Vandal (vocals/Guitar), Terry (Bass), Kent (Guitar/vocals), and their newest addition, Skidley Bones (drums)—the band quickly made waves with their abrasive sound and unapologetic attitude. Ollie North Productions aims to create a safe event for ALL. We do not tolerate any kind of discrimination, including but not limited to, discrimination based on ethnicity, gender identity, ancestry, place of origin, race, citizenship, religion/spirituality, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family status, and ability. Concerts
The Legendary Lake Monsters are a sizzling high energy 11-piece band bringing together the talents of Anita Baturin (vocals) and Paul May (vocals and guitar), Sergei Ryga (Keys/Vocal), Blair Shier (Bass) and Greg Baturin (Drums), with a driving 6 piece horn section of Alto Sax (Alex Barss), Tenor Sax (Craig Carmody), and Bari Sax (Cory Bagg), with Trombone (Ann Dorval) andTrumpets (Rick Smith and Al Szeliga). Think Gloria Estefan meets Amy Winehouse walking into a club to jam with the Tower of Power and Carlos Santana is playing guitar with Prince, all this is happening in Chicago. That’s the Legendary Lake Monsters from Vernon, British Columbia. Dance was the reason that The Legendary Lake Monsters formed in 2012, creating a dance band unlike any other in the Okanagan; a dynamic and entertaining horn-driven sound, playing music from a wide range of genres including Swing, R&B, 60s to 90s Pop and Rock (such as Blondie, Eurythmics, David Bowie, Van Morrison, B52, Chicago, Stevie Wonder, Beatles, etc), Rat Pack, Funk, Latin, and 21st-century horns-based music from artists such as Bruno Mars, Colin James, Cake, Amy Winehouse. Maroon Five, Trombone Shorty, Adele, Meghan Trainor, Magic, Shemekia Copeland, etc... The Monsters can do full sets of one genre, or mix them up depending on the event. Members of the band have shared the stage with internationally known artists such as: Colin James, Mike Reno (Loverboy), Jo Burt (formerly of Black Sabbath), Dzal Martin (The Equals), Jack Lovin (Powder Blues), Russell Jackson (The BB King Band), Alfie Zappacosta, Paul Laine, and Sonny Rhodes (Sonny Rhodes Blues Band). In the past few years, the Legendary Lake Monsters have played to large audiences at Vernon’s Funtastic Music Festival, the Penticton Peach Fest Music Festival, Penticton's massive Rib and Music Festival, Vernon Jazz Club, Vibrant Vine Winery, Lorenzo's Cafe, The Green Pub, Sparkling Hills resort and the 400+ capacity Vernon Prestige Lodge, performing a fabulous Bond 007 themed New Years night in 2015, a popular 2017 sizzling Mardi Gras New Years, and a classy Rat Pack Las Vegas 2018 NYE tribute. We have also performed at many private functions, parties, weddings and fundraiser events such as Rotary Dream Auction, Kindale Diamond Premiere, Cotton's Chocolate Valentine's for Mexico, and Dancing with Vernon and Shuswap Stars. Children aged 12-19 are welcome to attend – they must have a ticket and be accompanied by an adult. Pre-purchased Charcuterie is non-refundable. Cultural Experiences
Sip cider, connect with friends, and leave with a gorgeous silk scarf you created with your own hands. This interactive workshop is open to all and no artistic experience is necessary. Join us for our silk scarf workshop, if you can sprinkle cheese on a pizza you can make magic with us! When you arrive you will have samples to look thru, inspiration for your colours and design. Every design on display is beginner level friendly! Before we begin creating your wearable art, I will walk you thru our hands-on demonstration, this is the moment you experience just how easy our art can be. Then you will choose your colours and take your turn floating the paint one drop at a time on the surface of the water, then use marbling combs, rakes, or stylus to create your design. Together we will print your floating design onto your silk scarf...so you can take home your wearable, washable art!!! No art experience necessary! SERIOUSLY, if you can stir sugar in your coffee… Tickets include all supplies to make your silk scarf, and complimentary cider! Non-alcoholic options available. Having trouble booking, we can also book over the phone, Call Krista at 250-878-2452 or email colourdropdesign@hotmail.com GIFT CERTIFICATES AVAILABLE HERE!!! #thingstodo #okanagan #experience #bcwine #silkscarf #create #paint #sip #fun #mothersday #mom #momday #celebratemom Information Source: Colour Drop Design | eventbrite
