Hind Eljadid en haar zus (Fatima-Zahra) schreven het boek Kruimeldief en maken hier nu een toneelstuk van: Haar huid valt bijna naast haar botten. Als ik zou willen zou ik ze kunnen plooien, vouwen en binnenstebuiten keren. Ik zou er een afdak van kunnen maken of mezelf ermee omwikkelen als een soort dubbele huid. Mijn moeder trekt en pulkt aan het loshangend vel van haar borsten, kijkt naar me en zegt dat die vroeger vol melk zaten en dat ik dan aan haar tepel zoog. Ik word er misselijk van. Ik vraag me af hoe ver ik haar huid zou kunnen rekken, hoeveel tijd er nog tussen haar huid en organen over is, tot ze elkaar raken omdat er niets meer is. Een ziekte verteert het lichaam van de moeder van Hind en Fatima-Zahra Eljadid. Het is een traag en pijnlijk aftakelingsproces en het komt bovenop de vechtscheiding van haar agressieve ex-man, en bovenop de angst en de armoede. Kruimeldief is een poëtische maar ook rauwe elegie over moederkeszalf, afscheid nemen, terugblikken en herinneren. Maar ook over witte gangen, liefdeloze lakens en … zusterliefde. Een verhaal over rouw en veerkracht, over geloof en religie, over seksualiteit en het zoeken naar je eigen weg in een verwarrende en harde wereld. In het midden van deze zoektocht vind je de handgreep van de zussen, die elkaar nooit loslaten. Een verhaal van een zoektocht naar zingeving waar vele mensen iets aan kunnen hebben. Je ontdekt verleden, heden en toekomst van het M HKA en de bruisende buurt waarin het zich bevindt. Ter gelegenheid van de EXTRA MUROS tentoonstelling Jef Verheyen. Venster op het oneindige in het KMSKA staat deze rondleiding in het teken van de samenwerking tussen het M HKA en het KMSKA. Jef Verheyen ligt mee aan de basis van een cruciale bloeiperiode voor de hedendaagse kunst: de avant-garde. Tussen de jaren 1950 en 1990 zie je de opkomst van conceptuele kunst en happenings in Brussel en in Antwerpen, en locaties als de Wide White Space en ruimte A 379089 op Het Zuid in Antwerpen speelden een belangrijke rol in die ontwikkeling. Deze wandeling neemt je mee op en rond het gloednieuwe Zuidplein, gelegen tussen het M HKA en het KMSKA, en belicht hoe de omgeving is beïnvloed door de verschillende kunstenaars, galeries en musea. In de geest van Jef Verheyen, die steeds de brug legde tussen traditie en vernieuwing, kijken we naar het verleden, het heden en de toekomst van kunst in deze wijk. Je begint en eindigt in het M HKA. Na de rondleiding is er nog tijd om te lunchen in het M HKAFE of om op eigen houtje het museum te bezoeken. Bij sommige bijeenkomsten zal er een schrijfcoach of Vlaamse auteur aanwezig zijn om hun schrijfmethodes te delen en al je vragen te beantwoorden. In 2021 debuteerde ze met de youngadultroman Zout bij uitgeverij Pelckmans. Voor De Standaard schrijft ze over digitale cultuur en jongeren. Van tijd tot tijd maakt ze een TikTok over de boeken die haar opslorpen of haar proces als schrijver en tussendoor werkt ze haar master Handelsingenieur in de beleidsinformatica af.
