Zhangjiakou · "Chihiro's Fantasia" Anime World Concert | Zhangjiakou
Arts
When Joe Hisaishi's piano music meets Hayao Miyazaki's visuals, the entire theater instantly transforms into a living fairytale. "Spirited Away" centers around the storyline, weaving together the soundtracks of 16 classic films, including "Castle in the Sky," "My Neighbor Totoro," and "Howl's Moving Castle." During the opening number, "With You," the LED dome transforms into a floating Laputa. During the girls' chorus of "Forever Together," the stage curtain reveals images of Chihiro and Haku running through the air. During the intermission, "The Street with a View of the Sea," a shift in light and shadow transports the audience to a seaside town, a journey atop Kiki's broomstick. For 90 minutes, strings, piano, woodwind instruments, and children's voices intertwine, each note a story of growth and courage. After the performance, ticket holders receive a Baskin-Robbins ice cream and limited-edition commemorative stickers, allowing them to take the sweetness of childhood home with them.
