As part of their ongoing research, the group will be stationed at the Van Abbemuseum from November 13th to December 3rd, studying the medium and building multiple antennas within the museum on December 2nd. These antennas will create a sonic map of electromagnetic waves with extremely low frequencies that can penetrate even the thickest layers, such as concrete buildings. By experiencing this sonic installation, visitors will hear new sounds that bridge the gap between the museum and distant frequencies produced thousands of kilometers away. The Shock Forest Group consists of seven active members with backgrounds in music, data research, ecology, design, and communication. Their names are Katya Abazajian, Sheryn Akiki, Axel Coumans, Susanna Gonzo, Nicolás Jaar, Daria Kiseleva, and Jelger Kroese.
