Join the Education rangers to explore our park through a variety of activities. Book your summer session and then come and choose your activities with your friends on the day. You can discover what fantastical things you can make from natural materials in the park, investigate who lives in the different habitats whilst trying your hand at minibeast hunting and have a go at toasting a marshmallow over the camp fire. This is a drop in event so you can attend and take part in the activities at any time within the allocated time frame that you book. All children must be accompanied by an adult (18+) and a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children must be maintained during our events. This is a family event, however younger children will need closer supervision due to the presence of a fire. Follow yellow event signs from the Seven meadows car park to meet a ranger and get signed in. We will help point you in the direction of all of our activities. This event is a drop in so you do not have to stay for the full duration of the time slot. Booking via eventbrite guarantees you a space on this event however a limited number of tickets may be made available on the day of this event. Please note: There is a parking charge. Your chosen activity led by a ranger and all the equipment required to undertake the activity How long is the event? 1.5 hr drop in window When do I need to pay? Full payment and your booking is taken by Eventbrite Will I get my money back if I cancel? It depends on how long before the event that you cancel. Please see the refund terms and conditions. Can I bring my dog? We do not allow dogs on our events Do I need to book? Yes, pre booking is essential What should I wear? Activities involve going outside, please make sure your suitably dressed for all weathers (mosquitos and horseflies will be about in the summer). Remember to bring sun cream, hats and insect repellent. What happens if there is a weather warning? We may have to alter your outside activity if there is a weather warning in place, but we will do our utmost to carry on with mitigations in place or provide an indoor activity (if possible). If we cancel your event due to extreme weather, we will offer you an alternative date for the event or provide you with a refund. Can I bring snacks and drinks? Yes, you can bring your own snacks and drink, however we don’t advise eating during the events as some activities require hand washing on return after the activity. Where do we meet? What is the age requirement for children’s events? Our children's events events are aimed at 3-12yr olds, unless specified in the event description. Children under 5 will need more supervision undertaking some of the activities. If you have children above the age range, they are welcome if you think they will enjoy the activity, generally, everyone is welcome. Do adults have to stay on children's events? All children on children's event must be accompanied by an adult or over 18. How many adults do I need to bring on children's events? Younger siblings i.e. toddlers/babies are welcome at all the events, However please be mindful of the supervision of all children in your group and our ratios. Its that time again, who will be crowned Qld’s strongest Man & Woman for 2025! 6 events over 2 days at Steel & Stone Gym on August 16 & 17 2025, 3 events each day. Comp will kick off at 10am both days. Event 1 - Trump Yoke Athletes can choose between a light or heavy yoke for 10m. You have 60 seconds to get your yoke over the line, no drops allowed. Any distance on the heavier yoke will trump the lighter yoke. You have move the yoke a minimum of 1m to get on the board. Ladies 64kg & Mu75kg - 190kg or 230kg 73kg & Mo75kg - 210kg or 240kg 82kg - 220kg or 260kg Open - 240kg or 280kg Mens 80kg - 290kg or 330kg 90kg & Mu105kg - 330kg or 370kg 105kg & Mo105kg - 350kg or 390kg Heavyweight - 390kg or 430kg Event 2 - Trump Log Athletes have 3 logs to choose from. One rep on a heavier log will supersede any reps done on a lighter log. Athletes have 60 seconds to get as many reps on the log as they can. You can move between logs, eg. If you start on a heavier log and are not successful you can move back to the lighter log. They will have the choice between 2 bars. Any reps done on the heavier bar will supersede any reps done on the lighter bar. Eg, 1 rep on the heavier bar will trump any number of reps on the lighter bar. Athletes can move between bars, if you go to the heavier bar and do not get a successful rep, you can go back to the lighter bar. Sandbags will be carried 10m & loaded from lightest to heaviest into the wheel barrow. Once all the sand bags are successfully loaded into the barrow, its then pushed 10m back to the start line. Athletes will get a completion time or distance. Ladies 64kg & Mu75kg - 50kg, 60kg, 70kg 73kg & Mo75kg - 60kg, 70kg, 80kg 82kg - 70kg, 80kg, 90kg Open - 80kg, 90kg, 100kg Mens 80kg - 100kg, 110kg, 120kg 90kg & Mu105kg - 110kg, 120kg, 130kg 105kg & Mo105kg - 120kg, 130kg, 140kg Heavyweight - 130kg, 140kg, 150kg Event 6 - Trump Stone over Bar for Reps Athletes will 2 stones to choose from and 60 seconds to get as many reps over the 1.2m bar as possible. A successful rep is counted when the stone hits the ground. Any reps on the heavier stone will supersede the lighter stone. Athletes can move between stones if they want to.
