On the second day, you will prepare your wax sculptures for casting by adding casting 'runners' and 'risers' before making plaster moulds. The wax will then be burned out, leaving a negative cavity to be filled with molten pewter. Day three will involve melting and casting the molten pewter into your moulds, followed by chiseling and cleaning the casts on day four. To complete your artwork, you will engage in polishing, patination, welding, and cold working of pewter. Additionally, you will receive instruction on how to set up your own pewter casting works.
