Er begeistert sich für Stoffe über starke Frauen, märchenhafte Motive und queere Themen. Die von ihm herausgegebene Anthologie »Hinter Dornenhecken und Zauberspiegeln« wurde 2017 mit dem Deutschen Phantastik Preis ausgezeichnet, sein Debütroman »Rosen & Knochen« wurde 2018 für den Literaturpreis SERAPH nominiert. Stefanie Lasthaus wuchs im Ruhrgebiet auf. Nach dem Studium zog es sie nach Australien, England sowie in die Schweiz.
