Roscoe Tanner Tennis Clinic, a two-day event, will provide in-depth instruction on the mechanics of serving in tennis. Taking place on March 23 and 24 at the prestigious Himmel Park Tennis Center in Tucson, Arizona, the clinic will cover key aspects such as stance, location, stroke, contact point, toss, and follow-through, as well as creating weight transfer. Renowned tennis player Roscoe Tanner will guide participants through the various types of serves, including flat, slice, and kick, and offer insights on when to use each one. Additionally, the clinic will feature a section on volleys and net play, aimed at helping players perfect their serve and volley technique. Experienced players will also have the opportunity to receive specialized instructions on tournament plays and strategies to enhance their performance.
The clinic will be divided into four sessions, catering to different skill levels ranging from 2.5 to 5.0. Each session will last two hours and will be followed by a talk by Roscoe Tanner on the history of tennis, featuring anecdotes from his own career. Attendees will also have the chance to purchase and have their copies of Roscoe's book, "Double Fault," signed by the author. Participants are required to bring their tennis racquets, two cans of balls, and appropriate tennis attire. Other necessary equipment will be provided by the clinic organizers.
Roscoe Tanner, a former professional tennis player, holds an impressive record of 16 singles titles and 13 doubles titles in the Association of Tennis Professional Tour.
