We will explore some short expressive poses, then move on to longer focused poses. This is not a taught class, but will be hosted by BAhons Fine Artist Megan Charlton. Some materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own. ABOUT THE MODEL Alyssa is a contemporary dance performer, facilitator and creative movement director based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Her practice is deeply rooted in the belief that dance should evoke joy, empower individuals, and enhance connection. Whether in performance, facilitation, or direction, everything is driven by a passion for creating accessible, inclusive experiences that invite people to embrace the freedom that movement offers. This session involves drawing a professional Ballerina (clothed) from life - all levels welcome (ages 16+). We will explore some short expressive poses, then move on to longer focused poses. ABOUT THE MODEL: Our model for this class is professional Ballerina, Rachel Armstrong, who is shown in the photo. Having graduated from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, Rachel now works as a freelance dancer and teaches classes in Northumberland. Rachel will be wearing traditional ballet clothing and posing in various ballet themed poses for us. This is not a taught class, but will be hosted by BAhons Fine Artist Megan Charlton. Oaken Sings - HEXHAM Oaken is a vocal quartet with roots in folk music, branching out into pop and original songs. Emily Barden, Anna Tabbush, Camilo Menjura and Dominic Stichbury are four choral directors and composers who came together in 2020 to deliver online singing workshops during the pandemic. Since then they have developed an exciting repertoire of contemporary and traditional songs plus some of their own compositions. Their innate musicality and friendship bring warmth and joy to their audiences. Returning to Hexham (Emily and Anna's birthplace!) for a 3rd time - Oaken are thrilled to be back delivering a singing workshop which they will team teach, each member leading a part. Music will be taught by ear in luscious 4-part harmony. No previous musical or singing experience necessary. This is a very rare opportunity to draw an incredibly talented musician while she plays live for us! This is not a taught class, but will be hosted by BAhons Fine Artist Megan Charlton. Some materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own. This session is at The Garden Cafe, 20 Hallgate, Hexham, Northumberland. Drawing will begin at 18.05pm so please ensure you are on time, if you will be late, please let me know in advance as the door will be closed once we begin the session. There will be a range of drinks and snacks available from the venue, including hot drinks, alcoholic drinks and soft drinks. SEATING OPTIONS Standard seats include a chair and table space to work at. Sofa seats do not include a desk, but boards are available to borrow to rest your paper on. You will be sat on a low sofa rather than a chair. Both options offer the same great view of the model.
