Rod has been a long time exhibitor and 'Represented artist' of Cooks Hill Galleries, he has established himself as a professional artist, teacher - travelling to conduct painting workshops nationally in Adelaide, Launceston & Hobart- Tasmania and more locally within the Hunter Valley. We are pleased to offer a pastel workshop to gain an insight into Bathgate's unique skill working in this medium. For those of you not familiar with his subject matter he chooses to paint, he is highly acknowledged for seascape themes - reflective and transparent quality of water as well as landscape. Another side to his passion is a comic style and more recently delving into surrealism. ‘I would regard Rod as one of Australia's best pastel on paper artists in Australia’ and feedback from past workshops has been highly positive.
