What Deserves to be Kept by Brenden Gali | The Forks Market
Feb 3, 2024 (UTC-6)ENDED
Winnipeg
The event "What Deserves to be Kept" by Brenden Gali offers a transformative experience through conversation, writing, video presentations, and movement exercises. By unlearning our ingrained movements, we can gain a deeper understanding of our bodies. This process involves critically examining the systems of oppression that shape our surroundings. Through sharing our experiences and insights, both on a systemic level and in relation to culture, we can determine what aspects of our vocabulary should be preserved and what should be discarded. This event provides a unique opportunity to revisit our initial movements, as well as the adaptive behaviors we have developed for survival. By participating in conversations, engaging in writing exercises, watching video presentations, and practicing movement exercises, attendees can engage in this unlearning journey. It is worth noting that ASL interpretation will be available at all events. Join us at The Forks Market in Winnipeg on February 3rd, 2024, to explore what deserves to be kept. Admission to this thought-provoking event is by donation.
