Resilience is the ability to adapt, recover, and thrive in the face of adversity. It is not just about enduring hardships but transforming obstacles into opportunities for growth. For athletes like Daron and Adam, resilience means bouncing back after injuries, maintaining focus during intense competition, and finding motivation even in the most demanding circumstances. Through their stories, you’ll gain valuable insights into cultivating resilience in your own life, whether you’re an athlete, a professional, or navigating everyday challenges. This event promises to leave you empowered to embrace difficulties with strength and determination. The Details: Date: Friday, January 3rd, 2025
Location: Mountain Lotus Yoga
Address: 10124 E St Truckee CA 96161
Time: 6:30-8:30 PM
Cost: $15 Advance/$17 Door Taxes and Fees apply Space is limited. Sign up early to secure your spot! About Daron Ralhves: California’s Daron Rahlves is one of the most decorated downhillers in the history of US skiing, so it stands to reason that he’s hardly slowed down since retiring from the US Ski Team in 2006 after 13 years. Daron and his wife, Michelle, charged into parenthood – with twins to dote on – and Daron has transitioned successfully from alpine racing into ski cross and big mountain freeskiing for films. He suffered through a rough rookie season in the burgeoning discipline of ski cross (he crashed in all four finals he made), but in 2008 he dialed it in to win his first X Games gold medal. He redoubled his focus on ski cross with one thing in mind – Vancouver in 2010. Though he walked away without a medal, Daron has become an alpine legend who now indulges in backcountry and big mountain ski film projects. During his alpine career, Daron collected 28 total World Cup podiums and 12 victories, three World Championship medals and one glorious Hahnenkamm Downhill title, among other accolades. He's also proud to have created a unique event, Rahlves' Banzai Tour, a mix of big mountain freeriding and boardercross. About Adam Kimble: Adam Kimble is a professional ultrarunner (named Tahoe’s “Best Community Athlete” of 2019 by the Sierra Sun), race director, motivational speaker, running coach and amateur survivalist from Truckee, CA. He is married to his high-school sweetheart, Karen, and they have a daughter named Kaia, a son named Hayes and a chocolate lab named Sofi. Adam played Division-1 baseball at Bradley University prior to developing his passion for ultrarunning, and after graduation in the summer of 2009, he ran his first ever 5k race near his hometown of Minooka, IL. The race resulted in terrible cramps and a lot of pain, but fortunately it also came with a second-place age group finish! Once the pain subsided, Adam decided his racing days weren’t done, and he trained to complete his first half marathon in 2011. After completing his first ultramarathon (50k) in 2014, the question became “what else is my body and mind capable of?” Following the Fastest Known Time (FKT) ever on the 171-mile Tahoe Rim Trail, a 60-day transcontinental crossing of the USA (2,500 miles), 60 days alone in the wilderness to become winner of Discovery Channel’s The Wheel, seven podium finishes in 100-mile races, and a 31-day self-supported FKT across Great Britain (John o’ Groats to Lands End + The Three Peaks), the limits are nowhere close to being reached.”
