In Zusammenarbeit mit Peter Grundmann Architekten wurde die ehemalige Wärme- und Lagerhalle behutsam in eine ganzjährig nutzbare Versammlungsstätte verwandelt. Auf dem Dach des ZK/U ist eine neue „Urbane Bühne“ – eine öffentlich begehbare Dachterrasse – entstanden, die sowohl von der Nachbarschaft genutzt als auch von den täglich über 180.000 vorbeifahrenden Pendler:innen gesehen werden kann.
