The IMPROV 400 - THURSDAY Narrative Exploration - Embracing Risk SPRING '24 class is designed to enhance the skills of advanced improvisers by delving into narrative techniques and addressing individual strengths and areas for improvement. This class builds upon concepts learned in previous classes, allowing participants to further hone their improvisational abilities.
One of the key focuses of this class is the use of the truthful monologue, which helps participants develop more authentic and compelling scenes. Additionally, students will learn the importance of building strong relationships within scenes and how to incorporate theatrical elements into their performances.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the creation of "multi-level" scenes, featuring deep and rich characters. This class provides a platform for showcasing the skills developed throughout the course.
The class takes place over the course of eight Thursday classes, with attendance at the first session being mandatory as it sets the agenda for the entire quarter. In order to provide a focused learning environment, the class is limited to a maximum of 16 students.
The cost to enroll in the IMPROV 400 - THURSDAY Narrative Exploration - Embracing Risk SPRING '24 class is $285 ($297.13 including booking fees). To be eligible, participants must have completed Improv 100, 200, and 300 classes or receive approval from the Education Director. The minimum age requirement for this class is 18 years old.
Please note that if you need to cancel before the first class, credit will be offered towards a future class, but refunds are not available. However, if you cancel after the first class, credit towards a future class will not be provided.
