The Bishopston Skatepark Project is thrilled to announce that the Free Open Skate Session for individuals under the age of 16 is back for another season, all thanks to the generous funding from the Swansea Youth Bank. This exciting event will take place at Exist Skatepark in Swansea on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Whether you are a complete beginner looking to acquire a new skill or already have some skateboarding experience and wish to enhance your abilities, this session is the perfect opportunity for you to learn and grow. We have an amazing team of skateboard coaches and dedicated volunteers who will be present to provide guidance and support throughout the session. Don't worry if you don't have your own skateboard, pads, or helmet, as Exist Skatepark offers equipment for borrowing. Plus, there's a wonderful on-site cafe where you can enjoy snacks, drinks, and socialize with fellow skateboarding enthusiasts. Learn about the concept of flow and create an artwork showcasing one of the flow environments at Swansea University. Swansea University is seeking participants for a research project that explores how physical environments can support wellbeing through flow experiences. This project is open to all Swansea University students aged 18 and above. The research involves a workshop, lasting approximately 2 hours, where participants will be introduced to the concept of flow and guided in creating an artwork representing their flow environment. A short questionnaire will also be provided to gather feedback on the workshop experience. The workshop will take place in The Mall Room at the Taliesin building on Singleton Park Campus.
