Riders of all levels are welcome, with multiple groups catering to various abilities. To participate, ensure you have a functional off-road bike equipped with fully charged lights for the dimly lit final stretch. Remember to bring a spare tube and pump for any necessary maintenance. Anticipate an adventure spanning 12-25km of muddy terrain, promising an evening of thrilling fun. Level 2 Bikeability, also known as cycling proficiency, adheres to the National Standards in Cycling to educate cyclists on road safety. Typically undertaken during school years 4-6 (ages 9-13), this course equips participants with the skills necessary to confidently navigate modern road conditions. The session, scheduled for 2024-05-29 at Bewdley Leisure Centre, will commence with a warm-up before progressing to on-road lessons. Topics covered include proper positioning, signaling, handling unexpected situations, navigating junctions, performing U-turns, passing traffic, and identifying hazards. Both morning and afternoon sessions, each lasting 3 hours, must be attended for course completion. Participants are advised to dress appropriately for the outdoor activities, wear helmets, and don shoes with sturdy soles such as trainers. Gloves are recommended, and a packed lunch is required as no meals will be provided. All bikes must have two functioning brakes to be deemed roadworthy; BMX bicycles may not be suitable. Please note that bikes will not undergo thorough checks on the day, and unsuitable bikes will not be allowed to participate.

After this we’ll think about what that better future looks like if we are on our way to solving the world's most critical issues such as the climate and nature crisis and inequality. We have a simple imagination exercise that will really help you to envision that better future. Then we’ll invite you to explore how to bring this future to life. You can write down what you have imagined as a mini-story or start doing some art such as a drawing or collage, or some more creative writing. This can be done individually or in groups. We’ll have an artist on hand to help bring ideas to life. We’ll select stories and artwork to be showcased online and in various public locations, which we hope will stimulate thoughts and enthusiasm about a better future.
