2024 Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports Fishing Day invites Adaptive Participants, ages 5 and up, to a free event at Van Hook, ND on July 11 from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Participants must bring their own snacks, drinks, sunscreen, bug spray, towel, swimsuit, camping chair, and a life jacket if available. Those aged 16 and older must have a valid fishing license. The event offers an opportunity to learn fishing skills on a boat or pontoon, with a power lift available if needed. Experienced local anglers will provide guidance, and there will be fishing contests with prizes. Each boat will accommodate only two individuals - the participant and a parent or caregiver. The venue features amenities such as a public beach, picnic shelter, volleyball court, and playground near the boat docks. Directions from Minot: head south on Highway 83 for approximately 15 miles, then turn right (west) on Highway 23 and left (south) on Highway 8 to reach the boat docks.
