Red On Back Yard Ultra | Altcar Training Camp
Sep 6, 2025 (UTC+0)
Camp
The Red On Backyard Ultra is a unique test of endurance held within the military camp of Altcar, Liverpool. Following the backyard ultra format, runners must complete a 6.706 km (4.167 mi) loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner remains. With no set finish line, the event pushes competitors to their absolute limits of physical and mental resilience. What sets Red On apart is its military setting, offering a fully contained course that is well-marked and marshalled within the camp. Participants will battle not only fatigue and sleep deprivation but also unpredictable weather conditions, all while embracing the camaraderie that defines the backyard ultra community. With a relentless format and an unforgiving environment, the Red On Backyard Ultra is more than just a race—it's an endurance experience like no other. Will you be the last one standing?

We are here for the ZEST. The creativity, the centering of our friendships, relationship building, the complete infusion of giving not a single fuck as we pursue self-expression. I witness you. And you witness me. And while we are not giving fucks about what folks think of us, we give LOTS AND LOTS of fucks about inclusion and rights and equanimity. Solidarity. We have a relaxed schedule of things to do each day. Room built in to craft, downtime, adventure time, and on your own self-exploration time, etc. The event ticket includes: Welcome bag with rockin' swagBreakfast on the daily served at the HQ house! We are doing a catered family meal on Friday night.Other nights dinner Mains are provided with themes for you to fill in the sides and extras.Get on the Bus - Rides to the Thrift Olympics will be on the bus!!!Great classes ~ Lisa's Zippers, Brainspotting with Dr. B, Healing arts with Rowan.Access to sewing machines, sergers, iron, and whatever else we can think of sewing-related. We will probably also make laminated luggage tags, buttons, and perhaps a zine or a linograph stamp.Clapping and cheering if you wanna do some thrift store upcycling, someone is always around to help or give feedback. This is a radical self-reliant experience. Chill schedule. What's not included: LunchesPlace to sleep ~ Stay with friends, book an Airbnb/hotel, etc.Transportation - you will need a car or flight (and buddy up with someone who has a car).Classes we have lined up: ZIPPERS!!!!!! With Lisa, using them as an art form and expression for the altered coutureRowan wants to make demerit badges, fueled by her zestiness and disdain for the patriarchy.Blythe may talk about how zippers are the perfect metaphor for shadow work.To view the entire schedule from last year to give you an idea (2025 sched. locked in soon): https://hottiehoopcamp.com/meet-up-in-marfa/ xoxoxo Blythe and Rowan and Lisa xoxoxo
