Dec 5, 2024 (UTC-5)ENDED
Orillia
For over 25 years Skydiggers' friends and fans have reunited over the holidays at Toronto’s Legendary Horseshoe Tavern to celebrate the season to the soundtrack of the band's distinctive rootsy Christmas tunes and Skydiggers' classics, and this year they're taking it on the road. We've realized that the most moving moments of the season are more than just expressions of glad tidings and comfort and joy,” says Skydigger Andy Maize. “That there are moments of melancholy, regret and truth that are, in their own way, as much a part of the Christmas experience as any joyous carol. We want to put on a show that both celebrates the season while leaving room for quieter, more personal moments.

This conference will offer opportunities to build connections and mentorship through the power of shared lived experiences, while celebrating the vital role early years professionals play in our communities. It’s a chance to come together, recognize the value of the work we do, and have meaningful conversations with fellow educators, students, and community partners.

RESCHEDULED Couchiching OHT Third Annual Caregiver Appreciation Event | Creative Nomad Studios
Jun 3, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Orillia
Due to the ice storm and power outages in Orillia, we have rescheduled our event from its original date on Tuesday, April 1st (National Caregiver Day) to Tuesday, June 3rd.
National Caregiver Day, observed on the first Tuesday in April, is dedicated to publicly recognizing and acknowledging the critical role caregivers play in providing care for family and friends. According to Stats Canada, in 2018, there were 7.8 million caregivers aged 15 and older in Canada, representing 25% of the population. In Ontario, this number stands at 4 million, as reported by the Ontario Caregiver Organization.
This year, the COHT PFCN is proud to host the 3rd Annual Caregiver Appreciation Day on June 3, 2025, at Creative Nomad Studios (20 Mississaga St W, Orillia, ON L3V 3A5). Join us as we celebrate, recognize, and thank our local caregivers for their invaluable contributions to the health outcomes of patients within our community.
We hope to gather as many caregivers from our community as possible for this special event.
