Via Paolo Sarpi in the heart of Milan's Chinatown, and the areas surrounding Piazza Sempione and the Arch of Peace, are particularly popular venues for many important events. Due to the large number of tourists, performances, parades, and fireworks displays are usually arranged here for ease of management. Milan's Chinese New Year 2026 activities include: Dragon Parade One of the most anticipated parts of Milan's celebrations is the dragon parade. This event, which blends traditional dance, folk music, and martial arts performances, will take place at 2 pm on Tuesday, February 17th, in Piazza Sempione under the Arch of Peace. The parade is a traditional ceremony in which numerous performers carry a long dragon made of cloth or papyrus, accompanied by drums, gongs, and fireworks, winding through the streets. Its symbolism is profound: the dragon symbolizes power, prosperity, and good fortune. People believe that this dance can ward off evil spirits and bring happiness, health, and success in the coming year.
2026 Chinese New Year Concert
Another highlight of this event is the 14th Annual Chinese New Year Concert. Organized by the Concert Association Foundation and the Long Jia School Chinese Cultural Centre, the concert will be held at the Rosetta Theatre on February 2, 2026, at 8:30 pm.
Food Experience and Food Festival
This itinerary, scheduled for February 14 (Saturday), includes a guided walking tour that will lead participants to explore the origins, meaning, and traditions of the Spring Festival, and to sample traditional foods such as auspicious dumplings, longevity noodles, and rice cakes. Along the way, participants will also visit shops, markets, temples, and other distinctive places related to the local Chinese community.
