The class provides all necessary materials, but we encourage you to bring your own. Basic drawing supplies are available for free, and paper can be purchased at the studio. Easels, chairs, drawing boards, and small tables are provided on a first come-first served basis. Getting to the studio is easy, with parking available at London Road, Elder Place, and Trafalgar St car parks. Brighton station is also just a short 5-minute walk away. Please note that the studio is wheelchair accessible, with gender-neutral and accessible toilets. For those who want extra practice, there is an untutored life drawing session with Lancelot from 1-3pm for an additional fee. The South East Awards 2024 SUSSEX Heat is an exciting opportunity for students of RAD teachers aged 8-17, studying Grade 2 to Intermediate. Organized by the South East Region, these awards aim to provide RAD students in the South East Region with a chance to participate in a fun and open-level ballet class and compete for a spot at the Awards Day final. The final will take place at RAD HQ on Sunday, May 12th. The three Grand Finals classes will offer a cash prize of £300 to the ultimate winner of each class, along with prizes for the first and second runners-up. To be eligible, candidates must be between 8-17 years old and meet the class requirements by December 1st, 2023. Students should be entered in the county where they attend classes with their RAD teacher. If a student lives in Hampshire but attends classes in Surrey, they must be entered in the Surrey heat. There are three classes available for registration: Class A, Class B, and Class C. Class A requires students to have passed RAD Grade 1 or above, but not yet taken Grade 3. Class B requires a minimum of RAD Grade 3, but no Grade 5 or Vocational examinations. Class C is open to students who have passed RAD Grade 5 or above, but have not yet taken the Intermediate Examination. Make sure to book onto the correct class at the right venue. Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your life drawing skills, this class is open to all abilities. Led by experienced tutor and artist Lancelot Richardson, each session explores a different aspect of life drawing. You can drop in for a single session or attend them all for a comprehensive course. The class begins with a 20-minute tutored segment focusing on the topic of the week. Following this, you'll have the opportunity to draw from an unclothed model through a series of exercises. Lancelot will be on hand to provide guidance and feedback throughout the session. There will be a short break in the middle of the class for hot drinks and biscuits, allowing you to recharge and socialize with fellow artists. To secure your spot, you can prebook online or pay on the day using your card. Additionally, if you're eager to continue practicing, you can stay for Lancelot's untutored life drawing session from 1-3pm for an additional fee. Although some basic drawing materials will be provided for free, we encourage you to bring your own supplies. Using fresh and dried plant materials, as well as dye extracts, attendees will discover how to create vibrant colors suitable for drawing on paper.
