Donohue's practice is influenced by multiple themes including domesticity, innocence and popular culture. She investigates the connection between these themes and images or items from her own personal history – an event, a person or place, physical or ephemeral. Activities, thoughts, items reoccur daily, weekly, and monthly. Repetition makes for familiarity and meditation. Patterns form and life continues. Donohue is a member of the Newcastle Printmakers Workshop, the Make Space Collective and Art-in-Sync. For the summer of 2025, the Leitrim Water Safety committee is streamlining all events in the county. This means there will be the same number of classes per area, pricing structures, and number of days to complete lessons. We know this is a change, but the committee felt this was important for consistency across the county. We are therefore strongly recommending for all Seal and Marlin swimming classes students attend for two weeks of lessons. This is so that they become strong and competent at each level before progressing. From the summer of 2025, alllifesaving courses (Safety and Rescues) will be mandatory for two weeks. Duende, or ‘tener duende’ (having duende) translates in Spanish as having soul, a heightened sense of emotion, expression, and heart. It refers to spirit in Spanish, Portuguese and Filipino folklore and means ‘ghost’ or ‘goblin’ in Spanish.
