The Kemptville 73's are located just 30 minutes south of Ottawa and we have had a lot of success moving players to the higher levels of hockey (NCAA, CIS, OHL) including two former 73's players were drafted by the NHL in the spring following the season in which they played for us. Our goal is to help our players achieve their hockey goals. What makes the CCHL an ideal destination? First, the CCHL has the least amount of travel of any league at this level in North America. From one end to another, the longest trip is slightly over 3 hours (only 2 hours for the 73's). The average trip is under an hour and many teams have several road trips just minutes away. Centrally located in the Ottawa region, the twelve teams miss zero school days as a result of the very full 55 game schedule. The CCHL provides its players with a high caliber of play, minimal travel and a strong emphasis on development, this may be the ideal place for you. Teams provide their players with guaranteed practice to game ratios and off-ice fitness is mandatory for all programs. By providing access to this training, players can fully develop on and off the ice. The CCHL uses CCM-Reebok equipment exclusively and has an innovative program ensuring players receive new equipment each season that they take with them after the year ends. The 73's offer a full program that includes an Strength Coach, Education Advisor, access to our own gym in the rink, baseline concussion testing .......We work diligently to promote all of our players to higher levels of hockey (NCAA, CIS, Major Junior, NHL....). The CCHL is widely considered one of the top Junior A leagues in Canada and regularly sends teams to the Centennial Cup, which is Canada's National Championships. With it's close proximity to the Eastern United States it widely scouted and sends numerous players yearly to the NCAA. The Kemptville 73's Spring Evaluation Camp is an exciting opportunity for aspiring hockey players to showcase their skills and potentially secure a spot on the roster for the 2024-25 season. Taking place on April 27th and 28th, 2024, this camp is designed to identify talented future players and offer them the chance to join the team. With a limited number of spots available for only four teams, participants will have the opportunity to compete alongside their peers and catch the attention of the 73's Hockey Operations Staff. This camp is open to players born between 2004 and 2008, including both 20-year-olds and USA players. Accommodation options are available at local hotels and motels for those who need it. Team assignments will be emailed on Monday, April 22nd, so be sure to register by clicking on "TICKETS" to secure your spot. Please note that all registrations are subject to approval by the 73's. The Kemptville 73's, located just 30 minutes south of Ottawa, have a proven track record of success in developing players and helping them reach higher levels of hockey, such as NCAA, CIS, and OHL. In fact, two former 73's players were even drafted by the NHL after their time with the team. The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), where the 73's compete, offers players an ideal destination with minimal travel, a strong emphasis on development, and a high caliber of play. The league's 55-game schedule ensures that players miss no school days, and the CCHL provides guaranteed practice to game ratios and mandatory off-ice fitness programs. By participating in the Kemptville 73's Spring Evaluation Camp, players will have access to a full program that includes a Strength Coach, Education Advisor, and their own gym in the rink. The CCHL's partnership with CCM-Reebok ensures that players receive new equipment each season, which they can keep after the year ends. With its proximity to the Eastern United States, the CCHL is widely scouted and regularly sends players to the NCAA.
