The 10th Annual Slash & Berm Banked Slalom is an exciting event that brings together Killington Resort, Darkside Snowboards, and Burton for a great cause. Snowboarders from all around will gather at The Stash terrain park in Killington to experience the natural terrain and creative elements the mountain has to offer. This year, the event aims to support the Friends of Rutland Skatepark, an organization dedicated to building a concrete skatepark in Rutland, VT. To make a donation, visit their website. The action kicks off on Friday with a Shop Team Invite-Only banked slalom event, where local shops will compete for the Slash & Berm Banked Slalom title. On Saturday, the event is open to all snowboarders and will be individually timed. This year, Groms (snowboarders ages 13 & under) can also participate and showcase their skills in The Stash. Additionally, a Switch Run will replace the Just for Fun run on Saturday, open to the first 50 participants to sign up. The event concludes on Sunday with the Grom Slalom event for competitors ages 13 & under, taking place in the Lil' Stash at Ramshead. RegistrationCheck-in will be held in the Fuel TV Lounge on the 3rd floor of the Bear Mountain Lodge from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on event day. Remember that all athletes must check-in before 9:30 a.m. to receive a bib and compete. The entry fee is $50 for the Grom, Open, and Legends divisions, which includes lunch. Competitor tickets are available for $65 on Saturday, and participants must have a lift ticket or pass to compete. Registrations will not be accepted after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. If spots are still available, day-of registration can be done from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the check-in location in the Bear Mountain Lodge. Participants can pay only via credit/debit card. It's important to note that this competition is exclusively for snowboarders, and all participants must wear a properly fastened snow sports helmet during practice, inspection, and competition. Make sure to inspect the course/venue before the event and stay within your skill and ability levels. Scoring rules for Saturday include the best of 2 runs, and missing a gate results in a disqualified run. The event offers various divisions, including Grom Boys, Grom Girls, Open Men and Women (13+), and Legends Men and Women (40+).
