Participants will engage in hands-on training on the south slopes of Mount Rainier, formerly known as "təqʷuʔməʔ" (Taquoma), starting from the Paradise trailhead. The curriculum covers glacier travel systems, rope/belay techniques, knots/hitches for crevasse rescue, snow anchor construction, basic to advanced haul systems, and more. Prior experience in ascending and descending steep snow slopes, basic ice axe skills, and self-arrest techniques are required. The course fee is $375, excluding guide gratuities, with a suggested 10-15% tip. Remember to sign the SheJumps Participant Waiver and the Alpine Ascents International Waiver before the event.
