Renowned documentary "The West Lake Printing Society" directed by Xu Jifeng will host its first offline parallel sharing event in North America, specifically in Silicon Valley. In 1904, four young men from Hangzhou established the "West Lake Printing Society" on the isolated mountain of the West Lake in Hangzhou. This is the only society in China that has been in existence for over a hundred years and is hailed as the "Number One Society in the World". Despite encountering numerous setbacks throughout its 120-year history, the West Lake Printing Society has always managed to turn adversity into fortune and has reached an unparalleled height comparable to the Himalayas, at an elevation of 38 meters atop the isolated mountain. Who exactly were these four young men, known as the "Four Gentlemen of West Lake"? The documentary "The West Lake Printing Society," which explores this topic, has already won over a dozen awards in China and has been honored with the highest television award, the "Starlight Award," as well as being named one of the "Top Ten Most Influential Documentaries" by the program "Documentary China." It has also been nominated for the "Golden Rooster Awards" and the "Magnolia Awards" for Best Documentary at the end of the year. What has contributed to its tremendous success? On January 23rd, we are pleased to invite Mr. Xu Jifeng, the director of the documentary, and a nationally recognized director, to share this captivating story with us. Mr. Xu Jifeng, a nationally recognized director, is an executive director of the China Television Documentary Association and a member of the Arts Commission of the China Television Artists Association. He has served as a visiting professor at Zhejiang University and Shanghai University, among other prestigious universities. He is also the creator of the Zhejiang Television program "Elegant Qiantang." Some of his notable works include "Crossing the Earth's Summit," "Reeds in the Water," "Under the Shanghai Eaves," "Cultural Geography of Zhejiang," "31 Gu Shan Road," and "The West Lake Printing Society." His works have won numerous awards, such as the "Starlight Award" and the "Golden Rooster Award," and he has been recognized as one of the top one hundred television artists in China and has received the "Special Contribution Award" from the China Television Documentary Academy.
