I recently had the pleasure of staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town - Upper Eastside, and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The first thing that caught my attention was the stunning views that the hotel offers. Whether you're enjoying a meal in the restaurant or relaxing in your room, the scenery is simply breathtaking. The location of the hotel provides a unique perspective of Cape Town, and I found myself captivated by the cityscape. The staff at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town - Upper Eastside are truly exceptional. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The level of service throughout my stay was consistently excellent. The staff members were not only efficient but also went out of their way to ensure that every need was met. Their genuine friendliness added a personal touch to the overall experience. One of the standout features for me was the secure parking facilities. Knowing that my vehicle was safely parked on the premises provided an added sense of comfort during my stay. It's evident that the hotel takes security seriously, contributing to the overall feeling of safety and peace of mind. Now, let's talk about the breakfast – it was nothing short of amazing. The variety of options available was impressive, catering to a range of tastes and dietary preferences. The quality of the food was top-notch, and the presentation added a touch of sophistication. It's safe to say that the breakfast alone is reason enough to consider this hotel for your stay in Cape Town. As for the room, it was nothing short of stellar. The attention to detail in the design and furnishings created a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The cleanliness and maintenance of the room were also noteworthy, reflecting the hotel's commitment to providing a high standard of accommodation. In conclusion, my experience at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town - Upper Eastside exceeded my expectations. The combination of breathtaking views, excellent staff, secure parking, and an amazing breakfast made for a memorable stay. Whether you're visiting Cape Town for business or leisure, I highly recommend considering this hotel for a truly enjoyable and comfortable experience.

Great location for the airport and the free shuttle is perfect. The hotel is very comfortable and has everything for a great overnight stay. My only gripe is the staff all.standing around in groups chatting loudly at breakfast and having to wait 20 minutes for change in the restaurant in the evening.
Magellans Hotel

This bed and breakfast is in the ideal location to visit Simon’s town and its coastline however the actual set up of the bed and breakfast is a huge let down. We arrived to find our room was not ready, once it was the place still looked unkempt, there was a bucket in the bath, the furniture had not been returned to its original locations well and the complimentary items seemed used. On our second night there was load shedding a common occurrence however there seemed to be no precautionary measures taken and we had to use our phone lights to climb the three flights of stairs to our room only to find the rechargeable light (obviously for such occasions) had no batteries and was therefore useless. As South African citizens we fully understand the uncertainty of power but for the cost and normal clientele of this accommodation we really expected there to be more in place. The meal times had been adjusted for the convenience of the staff who were on the premises compared to the welcome sheet details we received on arrival. The whole place seemed to be being run by support staff with no obvious manager on site for the three days we were there (we stayed over a weekend which I would assume to be a prime time) There is about 4 parking sports in front of the building but they were not being used to their full potential and often we had to park a little further away. Overall the location was the main positive. Considering the price we would have hoped to have better amenities and hope that the profile for this accommodation can be amended as there are no pools on the property unlike what the description had lead us to believe. Luckily the charm of Simon’s town and the beaches made up for the serious lack of attention to detail and luxury you would assume a place this price and in this location would have. 3/10 would probably not go there again.

The Westin, Cape Town, is an old hotel, but it continues to maintain its presence, quality, and some high standard in Cape Town. We stayed here for 8 days, during a friend's 60th birthday celebration event in Cape Town. We occupied an executive room and were also given access to the executive club on the 19th floor. The room was very nice, with good linen, bed of high standard. That said, we had to lodge a complaint on the hurried nature of how our room was cleaned on our second day of stay. The bed was not made properly, the carpet floor wasn't clean, and the bathroom was half cleaned. It's not good for a 5-star hotel. After complaining, the housekeeper made amends, and the cleaning standard was raised to the highest standard for the duration of our stay. We also ordered food from room service and half of what we ordered were not brought - they gave us something else, but after waiting for 45 mins for the original order to be brought to us we reluctabtly accepted the wrong order, ate the food and then lodged our complaints later. The breakfast buffet was alright, but there weren't great selections of cold meats in the cold meat section. They really need to improve on this. Lastly, the overall service delivery by some of the staff really need serious improvement. Some of the staff in the restaurant are way too loud when talking to each other, and some of them even give out bad unwelcoming and nonchalant attitude/vibe to their customers. It is like they feel that they're doing us, their clients, a favour by serving us. Not good enough for a hotel of this standard, abd some of those staff need to be retrained. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Westin and we will definitely come back there when next we visit Cape Town.

We have been staying here for several years and I have to say that sadly this hotel has lost its personal connection with guests. We didn’t feel like returning guests but more like strangers and it was purely business from the hotel. We have such wonderful memories here sadly clouded by new staff who have no idea how to connect.

The hotel has a convenient location in the center of Cape Town. The rooms are comfortable enough for one or a young couple. If you plan to walk around the center - it's quite easy. I got to the Waterfront by walking in 20 minutes along busy streets and did not feel any danger anywhere. Small shops and supermarkets around the hotel allow you to cover all your everyday needs. The breakfast is quite meager, but literally around the corner on the next street you can find good cafes where you can have a great breakfast for a reasonable price and a supermarket where you can buy ready-made food. Immediately to the right of the exit from the hotel is the entrance to a beautiful park, from where wonderful views of the mountains open. The staff is responsive and helps to solve all problems. The only drawback is the noise from the air conditioning systems coming from the yard at night.

Good enough for an overnight stay, but there was no lift, and I was in a cast with a broken leg, so suffice it to say it was quite a challenge with luggage. They should really consider becoming more wheelchair friendly.

Mooiplaas is a stunning venue for a clean, crisp peaceful getaway.  The views overlooking the orange skyline and Ostriches doing their thing was, Oh so lovely!! The place is well managed and the staff are a friendly bunch of good old happy country folk. Nothing was ever too much. The food was delicious and fresh fruits and vegetables were delivered everyday.  The rooms are old but neat. The wooden floors give the place a vintage feel.  The old brown  wall to wall carpet was not great but the beautiful rugs thrown over it made is bearable. They have some good quality books to read and enjoy. The breakfast and dinner menu was on point👌🏾👌🏾. I loved the home baked bread 😋 😋. The breakfast box prepared before my 5am-120km ride was excellent! It was prepared excavtly As I had requestes.  I have already booked for my next trip😍😍. I loved seeing the stuff happy and enjoying their work. It’s always a good sign when staff enjoy what they do. I think I might have made a friend or two. The curio shop is interesting and the service at the Spa was… you guessed it, Oh so lovely!!☺️

Overall the stay was great, but finding mould in the in the vent in the toilet was an uncomfortable surprise. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were extremely friendly; however one staff member would sing and speak really loudly to no one in particular while tending the bar.
