Scandic Klarälven
3.9/550 Reviews
if you get a room with a view of the lovely lake Klarälven, then you are in for a treat. The beauty of the river makes your stress level drop considerable. The staff was very friendly but that we knew from before as people from Värmland are genuine people and seems so kind ( My mum was from Värmland so hopefully so hopefully I got some piece of this as well :-) the restaurant is modern and most seats have the must needed lake view, but the meny could benefit from more dishes and variety. we will be back!
Selma Spa

A great spa hotel in beautiful surroundings. Great pools, indoors and outdoors. Excellent service! All staff were very friendly and attentive. The dinner was good, but the burgers somewhst boring. The salmon, however, was excellent and the poke bowl very good. The breakfast was the downside and the reason for us giving 4 and not 5. It was ok, but nothing more, and there were long lines at 9 am.
Clarion Collection Hotel Bristol

The Clarion Collection Hotel Bristol was centrally located in the heart of Arvika, within walking distance of the city's shops and restaurants. The guest room was clean but simply furnished and consisted of an armchair, work table and chair and beds. There was no minibar, kettle or air conditioning in the room. The TV in the room was small and looked like something old-fashioned. There was some noise from the street. The cleanliness seemed to be good. The bathroom had underfloor heating but was simply decorated. A loose soap bottle from the soap dispenser lay on the sink and gave a somewhat bad first impression. There were no free toiletries. The hotel's common area appeared to be somewhat worn and the hotel could with advantage have been renovated. There was free wireless internet throughout the hotel, but we found the speed of the network to be somewhat variable. The hotel had a bar and restaurant. Free supper was served to hotel guests. The meal consisted of a hot dish and a salad buffet. The food appeared to be somewhat boring, but was still experienced as a positive gesture. The hotel's breakfast was served as a buffet with a selection of both hot and cold dishes. However, the selection could have been a bit better and I missed several local and homemade products. The breakfast room appeared small and there were quick queues in the buffet area. The staff seemed uninvolved and I missed more enthusiasm and interest in the guests.
Hotell Charlottenberg

Spacious rooms. Because the hotel is not build high, you might have to walk a bit from reception to the room. Coffee/tea in the room. Decent bathroom too (but the soap dispenser is a bit odd and leaking soap). Friendly staff. Note that there is no taxi service in Charlottenberg, so you need to bring your own car to get around. Cheap shopping in the next-door shopping center.
Best Western Savoy Karlstad

Great breakfast and comfortable room with a very professional staff that were accomodating to my needs. A lot of variety options for the breakfast, all in all standard as such but the setting is extra cozy and warm in such a lovely restaurant. My room was small and cheap but this was not my experience when I arrived. Well, the size was as advertised but the setting was exceptional with an incredibly comfortable bed and a huge pillow of superb quality. I also requested extra pillows and more blankets, though the room was warm enough upon arriving, I wanted that extra for my own comfort and the staff took care of it immediately without any fuss. It was one of the best hotel rooms I've had (and bed) and that's comparing it to rooms at the Harbour Hotel in Boston, MA & The *****, in Vegas. The room was clean at arrival and (per request by sign) clean after night one to a high standard.
