"This hotel is close to the airport which is fine for us because of the cancellation of our flight back home. The weather was bad at night with heavy rain and we heated that in our room through the drain of the airconditioning. Which is a bad design and old dated. Also check-in required a written registration of a credit card including security code on paper which is a very old dated process and prone for fraud."

"This was a very decent and affordable hotel — nothing fancy or luxurious, but it covers the basics quite well. It’s clean, efficient, and does the job for travelers looking for a simple place to stay. One of the best surprises was that if you’re lucky enough to get a room with ocean views, it really adds a lot of value to the overall experience. That said, there were some clear drawbacks. The room itself felt extremely tight, especially for two people with a couple of suitcases. There was very limited space to move around, which made things feel a bit cramped and uncomfortable. The bathroom was also quite small, and while functional, it lacked the comfort you’d hope for in a multi-day stay. One highlight was the balcony. Though the interior space was tight, the room had a good-sized balcony where we enjoyed golden hour and sunset views — that part was genuinely lovely and added a sense of openness and relaxation we didn’t get inside the room. The most significant downside for me was the parking situation. The hotel only has three official parking spots, which are always full. Given the area is busy and surrounded by in-demand places like grocery stores, cafés, restaurants, and a laundromat, street parking is very limited and expensive. I had to park at a nearby garage, which cost 10 euros overnight. As for the rooftop, the amenities there weren’t particularly impressive — nothing that would stand out compared to more upscale hotels. But once again, the ocean and sunset views from the rooftop are stunning and give you a brief illusion of being at a five-star resort. All in all, this hotel offers good value for money, especially if you’re not planning to spend too much time in the room. It’s a solid base for exploring the area, as long as you’re okay with a few compromises in comfort and convenience."

"We didn't like it. It felt like everything was missing. There were no slippers, robes, water (!), 3-in-1 cosmetics, and an empty minibar in the room. For this money, you expect more. I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel. The room with a view of the city overlooked the neighboring hotel Savoy. The view was good, but you couldn't open the window because there were hoods nearby, and the smells of food were drawn into the room. Paid parking - 11 euros/night. Inexpensive, but again, they could have included it in the price for hotel guests. Good roof"

"Booking this hotel for just over 200 a night was an absolute steal! The only downside is its somewhat remote location; you have to walk over 20 minutes to catch a bus (though there are buses outside, they are infrequent). Directly below the hotel is a large Christian cross, and it faces the sea – it's just beautiful. It’s super convenient to wake up early and watch the sunrise from the beach, only a 20-minute walk away. Picture 5 shows my experience doing just that. The hotel breakfast is also very generous. On my last day, because I had an early flight, they let me in to eat breakfast ahead of schedule (I ate at 7 AM, even though it usually starts at 7:30 AM). As some other reviews mentioned, WiFi is only available in the reception lobby. However, they have free live music on weekend evenings, so I don't mind heading down there to grab some WiFi."

"The room was simple but very clean. The hotel restaurant offered delicious banana swordfish and macaroni. The service, in particular, was outstanding. During check-in, they provided a thorough introduction to the facilities and even personally guided us around, explaining everything (perhaps because the beachfront pool was accessed via the back garden). Just as we were checking out, we witnessed a guest in the lobby suddenly choking. The front desk staff quickly sprang into action, performing the Heimlich maneuver and saving a life. All in all, everything was fantastic. Their high occupancy rate seems well-deserved. Thumbs up!"

"The hotel was in the heart of the city, great location and close to main attractions. Easy to get to from the airport using n9 bus for €6. The room was cleaned daily and towels were also changed daily. The staff were friendly and happy to help when needed. For a 3star hotel, this hotel has great value for money due to its location, and service. The breakfast was decent and the pool had a great view. The room had a balcony with a beautiful view."

"Cleaned every day, good breakfast, great location (hotels part of Funchal, but also walkable to centre), lots of restaurants and shops around, bus stop right outside, pleasant and helpful staff, well maintained pool, pool towels provided. Only con - old hairdryer, so it gets very hot and smells burnt. Also no iron."
