"I arrived at the airport late the night before, but the hotel's pick-up service was perfectly arranged. The driver was already waiting, and even proactively helped with my luggage, completely saving me the hassle of finding a taxi in the middle of the night. Upon arrival, front desk staff member #6 was incredibly friendly and polite, and check-in was very efficient. She also thoughtfully informed me of all the important details. After a long and tiring journey, the warm and thoughtful service from the staff made me feel so much better, and the room environment was also excellent. The overall service was impeccable, I highly recommend this hotel! It will definitely be my first choice next time I visit Kunming!"

"This is an international youth hostel, and there are indeed many foreigners here. The common areas have a great vibe, and the food and drinks are very affordable. It's super convenient, just a 2-minute walk to the East Gate of Cuihu Lake. If I could, I'd love to book it for two months next summer! Oh, a friendly heads-up: the room type I booked doesn't have air conditioning, only a fan. But it was quite cool, so the fan was perfectly fine. I stayed in room 506; the bed was very soft, the shower had good pressure and heated up quickly. The toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and shower gel were all good, and the toilet paper was quite thick. The only minor drawback was that the electric fan was a bit noisy. My friend stayed in 606; their water pressure was slightly lower, but the fan was silent, though the bed was a little firmer. Overall, I'm very satisfied! The washing machine and dryer are also a nice touch. All the staff speak English. While it's called a youth hostel, there are actually people of all age groups staying here."

"The room facilities were complete, and the courtyard was beautiful. However, I didn't sleep well because of the crickets chirping all night. Being close to the airport, it was also quite noisy. The hotel's peacocks were lovely, and the scenery was pleasant. The hot springs were also a great experience. A massage parlor is already under renovation, so it will be even better with massages in the future."

Hotels in Yunnan
Yuanyang twelve manors Xiangdian hotel is located in Yuanyang Terrace Scenic Spot, Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It has earthy yellow walls and thatched huts, which are integrated into the village of Hani village. Xiangdian is just located in the middle of Qingkou to bada. It is the preferred route for walking terraces. Passing by Xiangdian, metropolis will stop, have a cup of coffee, have a snack, have an iced beer, and chat with foreigners who come to China to explore their secrets. The vision of the incense classic is full of Hani elements, and the folk flavor is strong and attractive. Each room is equipped with floor glass windows facing the terraces. Large terraces are framed in the glass, which is the most natural picture of the circulation of the four seasons in the room. Occasionally, swallows fly low in front of the window, and the whole picture moves.Xiangdian features four seasons medicine bath (spring tea, summer flowers, autumn leaves and winter wine), Hani characteristic picnic, authentic bamboo tube roast chicken, and a long street banquet of more than 20 meters when it comes to festivals. Hani villagers fill the yard and speak incomprehensible Hani Language, which does not prevent us from having fun together. On a winter night when you don't want to sleep, sit around the fire pond, eat some baked tofu, roast Ciba, drink some wine, eat baked "potato", clap the hand drum, the fire shines on everyone's face, talk about the past, talk about the future, tell stories, talk about you and me, and the sleepless night is so short.

"The room was clean and tidy, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a small terraced field. Thanks to the underfloor heating, the room wasn't damp at all and felt warm. For breakfast, you could choose between Chinese and Western styles; I went with the Chinese rice noodles, which tasted great. The service was excellent too. The only minor drawback was a slight odor in the bathroom. You couldn't smell it in the room when the glass door was closed, but it was quite strong when opened. Hopefully, they can look into that."

Hotel near Huquan Ecological Park/Honghe Nativeland,Mile
"We chose Mile over Jianshui for a few days' relaxation primarily because we discovered the newly opened Holiday Inn there. Our five-day stay at the Holiday Inn exceeded our expectations. First off, this is a proper hotel, not one of those trendy simplified versions. What I mean is that its design and concept are genuinely geared towards providing guests with top-notch accommodation and service. The hotel boasts numerous public facilities: a bright and spacious lobby, an elegant little bar and lounge area, a kids' play corner, a starlit swimming pool, two hot spring pools with different temperatures, and a self-service laundry room. And then there's the restaurant – I absolutely have to mention it! The chef prepares a super rich breakfast every day, always with new surprises. I'm guessing the head chef is a master from Guangdong, though he told me he's from Yunnan. As for the rooms, they are large, clean, and tastefully decorated. The bed, sheets, and duvet are all high-quality. What truly reflects the hotel's quality are the in-room furnishings: the Holiday Inn has chosen truly comfortable chairs and sofas, the kind you can relax in while reading or listening to music. The most valuable asset of this hotel, however, is its entire staff. Every single person is friendly and polite, genuinely caring for each guest. A big thank you to Xiao Ji at the front desk, Nancy at the bar, KoKo at the restaurant, and the ever-present Gavin and Jennifer, along with their entire team. The hotel's location is opposite Honghe Water Village. We walked to Dahou Park every day for a stroll, visited nearby coffee shops, tried various restaurants, and after dinner, headed to Honghe Water Village to enjoy the bustling atmosphere. We are very much looking forward to staying at this hotel again next time. Highly recommend this excellent place."

If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"Welcome desserts, welcome fruit: They offered flower cakes and small fruits, which was very thoughtful. Facilities: The facilities are average but have everything you need. Hygiene: The hygiene is good, and they clean punctually every morning and noon. Environment: It has the advantages of an old house, warm in winter and cool in summer. It also has the common disadvantage of old houses, which is slightly poor soundproofing, but the owner provided earplugs. However, the neighbors were very considerate, so I didn't even need them. Service: The service was excellent. They called in advance to confirm the check-in time and thoughtfully prepared Jianhui food and travel guides, especially the station pick-up/drop-off service, which was very considerate. High-speed rail pick-up or drop-off (choose one): Very punctual and efficient."

"This hotel is quite good, offering excellent value for money. For just over 100 [currency, presumably CNY], they provide airport shuttle service, and even offer late-night snacks after 10 PM. Upon check-in, the front desk gives out small gifts – that crispy rice cracker (guoba) was delicious! The flower pastry (xianhuabing) was also good. Our 'butler service' means you get a dedicated butler providing one-on-one service from the moment you check in. They'll contact you in advance to confirm your arrival time, arrange shuttle pick-up, and send friendly reminders about breakfast times and other important notes via group chat. Facilities: The hairdryer's airflow is really weak, not even as strong as the wind off Erhai Lake! The bedside lamp isn't working, but everything else is okay. Cleanliness: Clean, tidy, and no strange smells – pretty good. Environment: The space is large and bright. My only complaint is the view from the window isn't great. Service: The service is excellent; anything we needed was delivered to the room very quickly, and the breakfast tasted good. Honestly, the view from the guest room window is quite disappointing.

I recently stayed at this brand-new hotel (opened in 2024), and it was such a nice experience. If you want a place with lots of extras, this is it. They have two pool tables, a small rooftop pool, and two gyms—one for yoga and Pilates with all the equipment, and another with treadmills, bikes, free weights, and even a Smith machine. There’s also a laundry room with washers, which was really handy. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, but you’ll want to arrive early to get the best selection. The staff were all very friendly, but Fei Xiu (绯袖) on WeChat was especially helpful—she answered all my questions quickly and made everything easy. The location isn’t right on the riverbank near the Starlight Market, but it’s not far from tourist spots either. It’s actually in a good spot if you want a quieter stay while still being close enough to everything. If you’re looking for a modern, well-equipped hotel with great service, I’d definitely recommend this one!

This hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Dukezong Ancient Town. Its Wabi-sabi style decor is tasteful and chic, and the quality truly rivals hotels that cost 2,000 RMB a night. My friend and I stayed for two nights and we honestly didn't want to check out. We've already promised each other we'll come back to Shangri-La just for this hotel. Hope it continues to thrive!

Choosing the Adaman Hotel by Mingyoo Li Cheng was absolutely the best decision I made for this Xishuangbanna trip. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the corridors enveloped in tropical greenery, exuding an exotic vibe. Every snapshot I took turned into a stunning, atmospheric photo. The room was spacious and cozy, with smart controls throughout, making everything super convenient. The bedding was incredibly soft and skin-friendly, ensuring a wonderfully restful sleep every night. The location is also fantastic – close to the airport, which makes getting around a breeze. Whether you want to escape the crowds for some peaceful time or explore Xishuangbanna's beautiful sights, this place is perfectly suited. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Xishuangbanna!

Staying in the Jacuzzi Villa was an absolute delight! The Naxi-style courtyard was elegant and peaceful, and the private, temperature-controlled Jacuzzi was clean and comfortable. Soaking under the stars at night melted away all my travel fatigue. I must commend Elin, our butler, for her outstanding service. From coordinating before our arrival to her attentive care during our stay, she was always quick to respond to any needs. She was thoughtful and professional, never intrusive, which truly enhanced the relaxing vacation vibe. The facilities were excellent, and the service was an added bonus – a perfect Lijiang getaway! We had the best stay at MuKa Pastoral Manor during our Yunnan trip. The property has a true resort-like atmosphere, complemented by exceptional butler service. Upon check-in, we were added to a dedicated WeChat group with the hotel team. Since there is no telephone in the room, guests can simply send any request or question via WeChat, and the staff respond almost instantly. The hotel also uses the group chat to share daily reminders about breakfast hours, afternoon tea, the complimentary photoshoot, tea sessions, and the nightly bonfire activities. It made communication very convenient and personalized. One experience that really impressed us was when we had to leave before breakfast hours for an early sightseeing trip. We asked if they could prepare something simple for us, and they thoughtfully packed bread, boiled eggs, milk, and local snacks. It was an unexpected gesture that we truly appreciated. We stayed in a Level 2 duplex-style room with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, making it perfect for a family or a group of four. The room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with an oxygen supply system and a dehumidifier. The butler also took the initiative to explain how to use the oxygen system and shared useful advice on managing altitude sickness, especially after learning about our previous and upcoming destinations. The afternoon tea and nightly bonfire experience are held on Level 5, which also features a cozy mini library. While most of the books are in Chinese, guests are free to browse and enjoy the space. We particularly enjoyed the traditional yak butter tea experience around the bonfire in the evening. Although the property is located about 20 minutes by Didi from Shangri-La Ancient Town, transportation is very convenient and ride-hailing services are readily available. The hotel also provides complimentary transfers to and from Shangri-La Railway Station, which was a nice added benefit. What truly sets MuKa Pastoral Manor apart is its outstanding hospitality and beautiful natural surroundings. The farm, courtyard, and open spaces create a peaceful retreat close to nature. My favorite part was waking up each morning to breathtaking views of Shika Snow Mountain (石卡雪山) right outside the window. Overall, this was one of the most memorable stays of our trip. Between the attentive service, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and stunning scenery, I would highly recommend MuKa Pastoral Manor to anyone visiting Shangri-La. I speak highly of the place, but if there is one area for improvement, it would be the breakfast selection. Given the overall standard and level of service they provide, I would have expected a slightly higher-quality breakfast offering. It felt somewhat underwhelming, with very basic Western options (bread, egg, jam) and Asian offerings (Mi Xian), along with milk, coffee, and juice. The juice also did not seem freshly prepared, but rather packaged.

This guesthouse was hands down the best accommodation experience of my entire trip. All that time I spent choosing it definitely paid off! The host contacted me beforehand to confirm check-in details, created a group chat, shared all the activity information there, and pre-arranged our usage times. The service was absolutely top-notch. The hotel offers a travel photoshoot, and they even give you 3 free photos. Of course, we ended up buying a few more because the shots were just stunning. They provided a delicious afternoon tea, and the bedding was super comfortable. The living room offered direct views of the scenery, though the only downside was a bit of rain, which meant we couldn't take pictures on the terrace as the mirror was covered in water. I recommend everyone stay in the cabins on the first floor; they might be a bit smaller, but you can step right out onto the grassland and play with the animals. If you prefer the main building, I'd suggest sticking to the 2nd or 3rd floor at most – the stairs to the 4th floor are a killer! There's a coffee shop nearby that offers discounts to guests, and their food is delicious. If I ever get the chance to visit Shangri-La again, I would definitely choose this place. Highly recommended!

Although Xi Shuang Ban Na UrCove claims they are a smoke-free hotel, from what I have seen this is not really true. I suggest People who are allergic to cigarette smoke or have health issues related to cigarette smoke definitely go somewhere else. I saw guests as well as hotel employees openly smoking in the front lobby of this hotel. Front desk clerks and supervisor saw this but not only said nothing to the offenders but when I complained about this, the front desk clerk ignored me and glared at me for complaining. Bedroom: very spacious and clean. beddings and sheets were very clean and comfortable. Toilet: was a very new style and with a temperature toilet seat Shower area: It was a disaster. The glass panel dividing the toilet and the shower area was poorly installed, so water from the shower area leaked everywhere. It was quite dangerous because the floor outside the shower was a smooth piece of floor tile. My wife almost slipped and fell down. We immediately told the front desk that night, and all they did was send someone to wipe up the water that's all. There was no follow-up after that. Breakfast: This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever been to regarding breakfast. The majority of the breakfast items were Chinese food which I have no complaints about, although I do not eat Chinese breakfast. The biggest problem was, when we went for breakfast after 9:15 am there were lots of emptied food containers and plates which was used to hold breakfast food items. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10:00 am. 9:15 am NO croissant, Not even a simple slice of bread which I can make toast with. I also checked the Chinese food items and lots of containers were emptied as well. I then went to ask a staff where I could at least get a piece of bread. Her answer was, there isn't anymore sliced bread and what you see is what you get. There was hardly anything to eat?!?!?! I was furious and I demanded to have a couple of pieces of sliced bread. In the end, kitchen staff Mr. Wang came to my rescue and cooked me and my wife each two fried eggs. On top of it, Mr. Wang went out to get me sliced bread from outside the hotel so that my wife will at least have something to eat for breakfast. On the second day of breakfast, there was no coffee after 9:15 am as the coffee machine went into cleaning mode for at least half an hour. The chief of Chef did end up helping me to get a cup of coffee but from what I can see, this hotel is NOT ready to receive international guests. Totally disappointed in the Urcove Xi Shuang Ban Na. Totally not the Hyatt standard at all. I really believe Hyatt management in Texas really should not take the risk of damaging their great brand by letting this hotel be branded with Hyatt's Name.  The way this Xi Shuang Ban Na Urcove is operating, they are worse than locally managed/owned hotels.

When I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.
