Higher Hotel

The person from Higher Hotel assigned to meet me at the airport didn't show up so I had to ask a (p/u-s/o) working at the airport to make call (my phone was unusable) to the hotel. The pick up was for 01:00 but was delay until 02:00 Other than this episode the rest of the stay was quite positive. Higher Hotel is a good location for people who have a limited time to visit Brunei's capital, Bandar Seri Begawan. Higher Hotel has a group of professional personnel ( beside the airport p/u person), friendly, helpful and courteous. The lobby is bright and airy with adequate sofas for guest waiting for cabs or transportation. The room and the bathroom, in my opinion, is better than most three stars hotel. There is a fair sized shopping mall across the street (to the right) from the hotel. Jame's Hassanil Bolkiah Mosques is only a 15 mins easy pace walk. The hotel can arrange a sightseeing trip for the four must see (my take if you have only one free day to take in the city): Istana Nurul Iman, Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Kampong Ayer - Venice of East, and Jame's Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. Jame's Hassanil Bolkiah Mosqueis only 15 mins walk from the Higher Hotel. Walk out from the hotel's front door, turn right and walk on that direction of the highway. To check your bearing, you may want to walk down to the roadside bus stop (just outside the hotel) and look to the right where you will see a pedestrian crossover above the highway. You can walk through the shopping mall (across the from the hotel) to get to the crossover. Go over the crossover and walk alongside the highway (nice walking path with green grass between the highway). Make a left turn when arrive at a four way signal lights. Turn left and look up. The golden domes of the mosque is 5 minutes away.
The Capital Residence Suites

The free transport option offered on arrival at the airport was a very appealing aspect at this hotel and it was seamless when arriving late at night. The city’s roads were deserted so the journey didn’t take long and the welcome from the reception was superb, feeling so friendly and more like arriving into someone’s home than a hotel. It may feel a little tucked away and at times more of a business office location, but it was the ideal spot for a short break in the city and all the main sights are easily walkable. There’s two buildings for the accommodation and mine was on the second floor in the alternative building. There is a decent lift as well as stairs available to use and the room itself was a good enough size. It was a little basic and functional, but with the prices charged I can’t complain. Be sure to close the blind in the shower at night else the glass door allows the morning sun throughout the whole room, but the air-conditioning worked well, there’s plugs by the side of the bed and a decent enough desk for doing any work. The TV was small and there isn’t a huge amount of storage but everywhere at least seemed very clean. Noise from outside was minimal, given the hotel is tucked away in it’s own carpark, although it was possible to hear water running throughout the building from other rooms throughout the night. Breakfast continued the friendly ‘home run’ affair and was quite nice. There’s a decent number of hot dishes on the buffet and the live omelette station is a good touch. Again all the staff are super welcoming and can’t do enough to help. There’s a mix of tables with many suitable for large groups as well. I can’t comment on their evening offering since it was closed for a private function. If you’re looking for the height of luxury and modernness you’ll be disappointed, but for a clean comfortable room, in a great location with welcoming atmosphere, certainly consider it - I will be again and it’s brilliant value.
Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam
4.5/565 Reviews
The Radisson Hotel Brunei is the only international chain hotel. Located within walking distance to lots of places of interest, such as the Regalia Museum, the Brunei History Museum, the Yayasan shopping center, the Kampong Ayer, and most importantly night market with great food just across the street. The hotel provides FREE shuttle service to various shopping centers 3 times a day. The most recommended is Gadong where you have the largest shopping mall in Brunei as well as the well-known Gadong night market where you can find and try all kinds of Bruneian foods, the best! The hotel has a 24-hour fitness center with up-to-date equipment, toilet, showers, and connected to the swimming pool. No attendants available. The breakfast has tasty food, albeit not enough variety and not enough vegetables. Service is friendly and helpful. At the lobby there is a souvenier shop. And a water dispenser so that you can keep refilling your water bottle. Last but most importantly, even though the bed is queen sized, but really comfortable and gives us well-rested sleep. Our room was facing the small forest at the back, so no noise from the street. Housekeeping does a great job at cleaning the room.
Badi'ah Hotel
4.3/5253 Reviews
Badi'ah Hotel is nothing short of superb! Large, spacious rooms with elegant/warm lighting and tasteful decor and artwork. Rooms were equipped with functional furniture such as a wall desk with a chair, 2 arm chairs, a folding luggage storage rack as well as a large cabinet for luggage storage and clothing. The room also came with an electronic safe, electric kettle, mini fridge, coffee/tea making supplies (Nescafé and milk powder packets, sugar, Lipton tea), 2 glasses, 2 coffee mugs with little stir sticks and bathroom amenities such as bar soap, shampoo, body gel, 2 dental kits and a disposable bag. 2 bottles of water were also provided and were replenished each morning. The bathroom was large and clean with a large western toilet. Shower was enclosed, however, water still floods all over the bathroom floor when showering. On this point, the bathrooms could be improved. The bed was extremely comfortable, but unusually short in length. I am only 5'5” but my feet were hitting the edge of the bed. For anyone taller than 5'5”, I fear your feet may be hanging off the bed? Perhaps this was just the size of the double bed in my room, but I found this peculiar. The room also came with a flatscreen TV, with 9 channels to choose from. Limited, but fine for a few nights. Channel selections included BBC news, Discovery and also a Cinemax movie channel (all in English). There were a couple of other English channels also, but I didn't tune in to these. Channels/TV service cut in and out periodically - loss of service - unsure why, but it was manageable. Wifi signal was exceptionally strong, with a router on each floor and different floor networks to choose from. Very happy! Air conditioning in the room and ventilation both were excellent. Housekeeping was excellent and efficient! They started at a reasonable time and finished very quickly, never missing a beat and generous with replenishing used supplies and toiletries. Rooms were also very clean! There was an electronic pad inside to indicate whether you wanted your room cleaned or to be left be, which I thought was excellent design. Reception and kitchen staff were all amazing! Professional, friendly and welcoming of guests! Always opening the door for incoming and departing guests and happy to service any request with a smile! Staff were superb! My one complaint (other than the flooding shower) would be ants in the room. Unfortunately, this is in most tropical climates, and difficult to control, I understand. They are harmless, but, for sure, an annoyance. The hotel offered free airport pick-up and drop-off which was superb value and very much appreciated! The staff even waited for me despite my flight being delayed over an hour (sorry!). Location of the hotel is perfect! You can walk to all of the major tourist sights, and there are 2 major supermarkets close by, one in the complex just behind the hotel, which was very convenient (it's called First Emporium Supermarket). The included breakfast b
Jubilee Hotel

Perhaps the cheapest hotel in Brunei offering good clean , big rooms , with amenities like tv , fridge , free drinking water and safe ambience . The location is 10 minutes approx 700 meters away from Water front and the bus stand where buses from Kota Kinabalu and Miri depart and arrive. 500 meters from the local bus stand. The hotel has a coffee shop which sells set breakfast. They provide unlimited RO drinking water in jugs from the reception. Nearest restaurant around 600 meters . It is safe in Brunei so does not matter if you walk in the dark at night. Bonus, free airport drop off. I even did not know about it the reception lady informed me at the time of checkout or else is was going to take 1 dollar bus ride which takes around 45 minutes. It gave me time to visit the museum and buy some food to have at the airport . I suggest the hotel very much.
Aman Hills Hotel
3.5/55 Reviews
The two rooms are actually three rooms, the middle one is an open kitchen and living room. The location is not good, except for the supporting commercial area downstairs, you must have a car when you go out. The staff is very nice, the only hotel where there is nothing wrong with the front desk to the room service. There is a free airport shuttle. Later, I heard that I needed to buy medicine, and I specially arranged for someone to drive us out without any cost. There are service points of large car rental companies, and travel services can also be booked with hotels. The commercial facilities are quite complete, and there will be locals eating a work meal at noon.
Wafa Hotel & Apartment

we checked in during mid of Feb-21. it seems nice hotel to stay when we look through the website. we've never got a chance to stay here since it's always fully booked. luckily, we managed to get an apartment and a family suite for our stay. it was our first time to stay there, we were surprised that the hotel services were not up to standard. such a disappointment when you see there is no proper service provided by the front desk and the concierge was not very helpful. the front desk didn't finish her checked in process with guests infront of her and she kept asking if her colleague can manage the other check-ins. ??? not to mention that they have no proper guidance to our stay. to cut short, when we checked-in to the apartment, it was a bit smelly. there are no kitchen utensils for cooking, there is no bath robe, no bath tub as mentioned in the website. moreover, the door toilet in the main room couldn't be close properly. it was stuck! not to mention, the wifi was very poor and we can't even use the ”wireless cord telephone motorolla” that was provided in the room. we have to call the front-desk using our own phone and dialed the hotel number. what's the use of the phone if they can't be use, right?? we requested to move to another room, but they said it was fully booked. what surprised me, the room next door is available. we did not have a choice but to stay. luckily when we visited the other room, it has such a nice view facing the roundabout. but again, what disappoints us was that there is no wifi in that room. i would suggest for the hotel management to improve on certain areas in this hotel. please look through this.
The Centrepoint Hotel

First in mind: room air temperature was too chill, freezing, despite the fan is off, and temp control set to highest (30°C). I am working in computer industry, and 16°C is the ideal temperature for computer room, but not for human. During the stay, never warmer than 15°C. If I didnt heat fill bath tub with hot water, room temp would stay at around 11-13°C Good things: - location near the Mall, many resto around - spacious room Immediate improvement needed: - aircon temperature should be adjustable, able until 25°C. - toilet amenities: cotton buds Further improvement needed - toilet amenities, shaving kit, comb, higher quality of tooth brush - additional door lock of chain type - additional electric socket outlet near bed, of the international type - key-secured access lift - removal of big TV cabinet - list of hotel properties in room - bigger swimming pool
Times Hotel Brunei

The hotel is located in a shopping area and nearby to Brunei international airport. Whist the room was generally was comfortable but their customer service needs improvement. For example, we booked a pickup, confirmed via email from the hotel, but it turned up one hour later. and the driver said they were not aware to pick us up at the airport. Whilst at the airport, phone calls to the hotel for the pick up was not answered until having called them 4-5 times. Breakfast menu was limited and basic, just local dishes. Their restaurant is closed at night, so we ordered room service - food came packed in plastic boxes with plastic utensils. They have 2 lifts to the floors but only one was working most of the time. Room TV has only 5 channels and low resolution. No facilities such as gym or pool. The sliding door of the wooden cupboard in the room came off its rails when we were using it. Hotel in a good location but its service needs significant improvements.

it has been almost 2 years MCO and now I have an opportunity to visit my Husband in Brunei. Thinking about self-isolation going to be the worst time of my life which I will be alone for at least 7-14 days in the hotel room. So I was prepared for some activities including office work...oh dear lucky that I can work from everywhere. The room is very spacious and clean. I can choose my sitting for work, reading a book or having a meal. The cozy atmosphere at the living area is so relaxing. I can see the views of the city from the window. Talking about the meal is superb! I have no complaint at all except my weight haha... Moreover the hospitality provided by the staffs were great! I really MISS the moments. I highly recommended this Hotel is the best place to stay whenever you visit Brunei. -siti-
