Traveling to Wuyishan during the off-season was wonderful; the autumn scenery was absolutely stunning with everything golden-hued. I specifically chose a guesthouse to better appreciate Wuyishan's natural beauty. Shuizhuang No. 8 Guesthouse is truly nestled within a park, offering distant mountain views and a close-up look at the river while you sip tea and admire the ginkgo trees right outside your door. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but the surroundings are also quiet and comfortable. It's conveniently located with great transport links, and both the dining and accommodation are excellent. The service is warm and courteous, and the staff are very prompt in providing assistance. I'd highly recommend staying here over a hotel!

We received a warm welcome from the staff. Check in was straightforward and prompt. The lobby area was spacious and pleasantly furnished. The staff gave us a room upgrade and we had a spacious and well appointed room that made us feel very at home. When we arrived, it was close to lunch time and the staff checked in on us on meal requests, we took the lunch and it was a good spread of local specialties. Breakfast was freshly made and gave us a good impression of how a well prepared local breakfast would be like, also the meal was well balanced with dairy, vegetables etc. The room package also included a afternoon tea in the garden with a water feature, a tea bath and a evening Chinese tea appreciation session where we chatted with the staff. We really enjoyed our stay there.

This is a lovely homestay in a newly built mountain town. Mr Jiang and his wife, teacher Wu, welcomed me into their home and made sure that I had a wonderful experience. Their home is beautiful, clean and tidy. It has a large open plan living area with a large dining table, sofas, a table for serving tea and a pool table, all of which you can make use of. They have a lovely garden and views across a small lake and over mountains covered in trees. The fresh mountain air is rejuvenating. They also have a cute little puppy. The villa is just over the mountain from Xiamen in the first town you get to, and just beyond the town there is a traditional rural village and a reservoir that are worth checking out. The town in which the villa is located is very quiet so don't expect to be able to go to any restaurants, but the hosts will help you order takeaway. The hosts speak English, and took me out with them to look at the stars and the night views, and in the morning made me a simple but satisfying breakfast. I hope to go back to see them again!

This guesthouse, converted from an old building, is nestled in a wonderfully quiet residential area. It's incredibly elegant, and the sound of rain on the banana leaves during a downpour is simply enchanting. To be honest, the room is small, but it was just right for me and my child. There's no breakfast, but the location is superb – just a few steps to Zhongshan Road with its endless food options. It's also very close to the subway station, making it convenient to get anywhere on Line 1. Xiamen is small, with one main subway line, and this guesthouse is right at Zhenhai Road Station, the starting point of Line 1. Crucially, it's very, very close to Xiamen Port Ferry Terminal. Although tourists can't depart for Gulangyu Island from this port, you can return here after 8 PM. It's incredibly convenient! After walking all day on Gulangyu Island, having dinner, taking the ferry back, and then being at the hotel within a 10-minute walk – that's pure bliss. The hotel is very clean, no cockroaches or mosquitoes, and wonderfully quiet. It's the perfect spot to sit, drink tea, and relax in the afternoon. My only suggestion would be to add more shelves and hooks in the shower, as it's quite inconvenient to place things otherwise.

Guest User🏡 Comfortable Stay: The bedding was soft and fluffy, the air conditioning was powerful, and the shower water pressure was excellent—it felt just like home. The best part was the small courtyard; enjoying the sea breeze and tea in the evening was simply wonderful!
🌊 Amazing Location: Just a few minutes' walk to the beach, so you don't have to get up early to watch the sunrise; you can stroll there in flip-flops. Watching for the bioluminescent plankton is also hassle-free; the location recommended by the receptionist was spot-on, and we actually saw it—it was definitely worth the trip!
🍜 Delicious Food: All the restaurants recommended by the receptionist were delicious, and none were disappointing.
👏 Friendly and Excellent Service: The receptionist was incredibly approachable and responded promptly to any requests via WeChat. I'll definitely come back!
In short, if you're looking for a comfortable place to stay in Pingtan that's close to the sea and has a friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go!

The hotel's hygiene was good, and the bathtub was incredibly spacious – easily big enough for two people. The king-size bed was wide and soft. The sofa bed was a bit on the firm side. The projector wasn't very smart, LOL, it kept projecting onto other rooms. The sea view was minimal, only visible from one side of the balcony, not from the window by the bed. However, the window by the bed offered a pleasant and relaxing view of trees. Adjusting the hot and cold water in the shower was tricky; showering felt like a battle of wits!

The hotel is a small western-style building built more than 200 years ago. It is decorated in a retro style and is clean and hygienic. It is located in the center of Gulangyu Island. The surrounding is very quiet and close to the snack street. It is very convenient for shopping and eating, and it is not far from the tourist attractions. The hotel service is thoughtful and meticulous. Fruits were given and the breakfast was also very exquisite. The guy at the front desk gave road signs and locations before check-in, handed over hot tea when checking in, and helped with luggage. It was my birthday the day after check-in, and the hotel prepared longevity noodles for breakfast and gave me a birthday cake, which was a great surprise. Thanks to the two guys at the front desk for their hard work.

The room I stayed in did not offer the river view that was advertised on the website. Instead, I could see the neighbors’ house through the window. It doesn't feel like a resort or hotel; rather, it more like a private house and
the owner living on the ground floor.
In the late evening around 10 P.M. and early morning at 7 A.M., I could hear children screaming loudly and people communicating, which might disturb those seeking a quiet environment.
I would not recommend this place for anyone who values tranquility. Having your own transportation would be ideal, as the bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away.

I first heard about Linggan Hotel through an article by Teacher Maori and immediately bookmarked it as a great B&B. When I had the chance to travel to Xiamen during the off-season at the end of the year, I booked a king-size room at Linggan the day after I booked my flight.
I chose the Sanqiutian Pier for the ferry, as Baidu Maps showed it was closer to the B&B. After getting off the pier, it was just over a 10-minute walk to the property. The B&B has a rather large courtyard, and its location offers a peaceful retreat while being close to both Piano Pier and Longtou Road. My favorite spot was the small balcony seating at the end of the corridor; enjoying a cup of coffee from the downstairs cafe and soaking up the sun in the afternoon was simply delightful. The room decor was minimalist, but all essential amenities were provided, showing great attention to detail. The large bathtub even came with a perfectly sized liner. In the evening, playing some favorite music on the in-room Bose Bluetooth speaker was just perfect.
The breakfast on the second day was a set meal, very generous and delicious. You could choose to enjoy it in the cafe downstairs or in the outdoor garden. Both the auntie and the front desk staff were very enthusiastic. I hope the prices don't increase too much during peak season, as I truly want to come back again!

The boss is basically responsive. He is one of the better B&B owners I have met so far. The B&B environment is also good. I only found out that this is a B&B street after I came here. It's quite fun.
