"Honest review: The location is excellent as it's right in the heart of Thamel. However, there are a few things you should know before booking.
First, there is no elevator, and I was assigned a room on the 5th floor—it was quite exhausting walking up and down. Also, the shower water pressure was quite weak. Regarding the room, it was clean enough, but the noise level at night was a major issue because the hotel is located right next to a club. It was very difficult to get a good night's sleep. If you are a light sleeper or value quiet, you might want to look elsewhere."

"Sara's Backpackers Hotel is really OK. The location is practical, you can get to important places QUICKLY like the Pashupatinath Temple or the Garden of Dreams. The rooms are clean, but a bit simply furnished. WIFI IS free, but sometimes a bit slow.
THE staff is super friendly and helps with everything, whether it's excursions or questions about the area. Breakfast is OK too, but not super special - just typical of the country. The rooftop terrace is a real highlight, a nice view to relax.
There are also bikes to rent, which is cool. A few things could be better, e.g. the beds are a bit hard and the showers could be more modern. Overall, though, it's good value for money.
Would come back if I'm in the area! ⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"Awesome! Very very satisfied with our stay at Pomelo. There’s location is great, we are just a few minutes walk from Thamel, 20 minutes walk from Sayambhu, 10 minutes taxi from Balaju… Now the service, it was the best part in the inn, the staff is really very friendly and accommodating, thank you Gyanu and Kamal who helped us for everything during our stay. We booked two rooms as a family, but we got one big family room with separated rooms, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was big and proper to use. The breakfast is the best one we had in Kathmandu, fresh and simple. There is a rooftop, from where we took a bowl of air in the evenings and mornings, really nice."

"The hotel is 1 km from the bus stop. After booking, I received two emails. One of them provided some important information. I had a phone number, so I called the hotel to pick me up after I got off the bus. Within three minutes, they arrived on a motorcycle. The room was okay—not too picky at this price point in rural Nepal. The hot water was good, and shampoo, towels, soap, and toothbrushes were all provided. You had to ask the owner for a hairdryer and hot water. The service was friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was good. However, the hotel is 1 km from the main street, which can be inconvenient for dining out. Be aware of this when booking. Also, the cheaper rooms don't have air conditioning, but they charged me an extra 40 RMB to get one with air conditioning."

"The location and cleanliness of the hotel were very good, while the facilities and service were rather average.
When I asked for the bed sheets and towels to be changed, there were not enough clean ones available to replace them. The change was done the following day, which was fine for us. However, having enough clean bed linen and towels should be considered basic equipment for any hotel.
I also found the laundry service quite disappointing. The hotel charges 300 NPR per kg, which I would expect to include a proper professional laundry service. Instead, the hotel simply took our laundry to a laundry service about 200 metres away, where the actual washing costs only 130 NPR per kg. The laundry was not properly clean and was still slightly damp when we received it. On top of that, the laundry service charged us for more laundry than we had actually handed in. In the end, I only paid the 130 NPR per kg, which was fair.
Overall, the hotel was good, especially regarding its location and cleanliness, but the service and some basic aspects of the facilities could definitely be improved."

Nice hotel in the city center with all the conditions I need. There is a good restaurant on the top, and the coffee shop on the ground floor. The service was perfect, the men from reception, his name is Birendra, allowed me to leave my belongings while I was on track, and helped me with all the questions I had.

I stayed here near the airport in preparation for my flight the next morning. When I asked the staff about the breakfast time, I got different answers depending on who I asked. When I went to the breakfast venue in the morning, it wasn't ready yet, so I had them call my room when it was ready.
The showers are quite local and don't come with a conditioner, so if you want to use them, it's better to bring your own.
It was helpful to be able to pick up and drop off from the hotel to the airport.

Dormitory rooms are for four bed only, Matrases very comfortable, bedding is white and clean, curtains, power outlets and light provide next to every bed. Hot shower provides. Rooftop is very cozy.

I booked this hotel for an overnight stay before my flight back home, as it coincided with election day. I chose it because of the positive reviews from Japanese guests. I checked in around 5 PM, and the staff greeted me with big smiles. I was instantly delighted to see Doraemon playing in Hindi on a screen in the entrance lobby! The room was incredibly spacious for one person, and I could relax by watching YouTube, Nepalese TV, and dramas on the TV. I was surprised to find a toilet with both large and small flush buttons, which is rare in Nepal. The shower room was also very large and had a shower curtain, making it very comfortable. I also enjoyed the breakfast, which was substantial and delicious.
