Travelers Reviews of Sabah Hotels

Borneo Inn

All was good except for the WiFi service. The staff were good. It has no lift by the way and our family room with 2 queen beds and 1 sofa bed was on the 2nd floor. Using only stair to lift up our baggage. This facility has it's own parking lot which save our time not to look for a space to park our car.
SEMPORNA CITY HOTEL

It’s similar to hotels/guesthouses in China, and much simpler than domestic budget hotel chains such as Home Inns or GreenTree Inn. Hotels in Sabah generally feel two stars lower than those in China. The one I stayed in in Kota Kinabalu is owned by Marriott The Le Méridien hotel is also comparable to domestic All Seasons hotels, so don’t expect too much. The sanitation is quite clean, and there are often people chanting sutras with loud speakers in the morning and evening... overall it's not bad. It is two kilometers away from the pier and takes a taxi for 6-8RM. You can go to the seafood market to bargain for dragon knives, which is quite fun!
Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort

The environment is very beautiful and unique. The front desk service is very enthusiastic and responsive. Some front desk staff can speak Chinese, while others can't. It is about a kilometer walk from RDC. It is also not far from the airport. It is a good choice for people who go to RDC and the Orangutan and Sun Bear Conservation Center. The cabin room has good air conditioning. The triple room is very suitable for families. It is recommended to have one more seat in the room. The lobby and restaurant are open, without air conditioning, and mosquitoes are more severe at night. There is an outdoor swimming pool. The breakfast is a bit too simple. The ordered food tastes good.

Pros: Location wise. Pizza Hut,laundry service, pharmacy downstairs..Walking distance to bank..For purpose of sleeping/bathing, more than enough.. Cons: No kettle (for self made hot drink), aircond not cold enough (room 203), tv is there but no channel available, no wifi..
Aristo Hotel 81

Aristo Hotel 81 in Kota Kinabalu is a budget-friendly hotel that offers basic amenities such as air conditioning, a restaurant and a coffee shop. Guests often highlight the friendly staff and convenient location near local eateries, pharmacies and mosques. However, some reviews on the Trip app mention noise issues from nearby nightlife and maintenance problems, such as broken door handles and inadequate room amenities. Additionally, windowless rooms may lack en suite bathrooms, which could be a disadvantage for some guests. Overall, this is a good choice for budget-conscious travelers looking for a short stay. Fit to price. However a bit disappointed during check in I informed the staff that we request early breakfast at 7.00am (which was serve at 8.00am) but denied our request. However, the check out staff was very nice, she gave us take away coffee and her own bun. Thank you so much to that lady. Recommended to book sea view room.
