Kandy Central
The owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely. Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source. The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue. Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat. The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross). The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up. The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good. Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location. Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!

Of the pluses: hot water, sometimes boiling water and thick fluffy towels. Clean bed, mirrors, working surfaces. In the rest, the impression that got to the hotel at the time of the move.

The price of the Youth Hostel, the service of the hotel. The location is a bit biased, but it takes ten minutes to walk to Kangping Lake and more than 20 minutes to the Buddha Tooth Temple. The facilities are very new and there is a balcony to see the scenery of Kangti. There seems to be a bar on the top floor, very lively, and the end of ten o'clock on time does not affect the rest. In short, it is very cost-effective and worth booking

The room is in an apartment, floor3, very clean, the helper is friendly. The equipment is new, breakfast is delicious, fruit is yummy. There is washing machine and the helper washed our clothes free. One thing: be careful not open the door, bee and insect come in quickly.

The B&B is on the mountain, quiet, safe, and has a good surrounding environment. It is convenient to take a taxi. The owner is Chinese, he cooks delicious Chinese food, and he can take you around and help you solve problems. He is a good friend. There are two cute kittens in the B&B. If you like, lion will wait for you at the door every morning when you open the door. Lucky is a greedy cat. If you don’t like kittens, it doesn’t matter. They won’t take the initiative to disturb you. The travel and accommodation experience is very good, which exceeded my expectations. Recommended. Oh, one more thing, the house itself is traditional Sri Lankan style, but the owner of the B&B has only been in business for 24 years, so don’t worry about the hotel facilities, they are improving.

We traveled from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya by train and this is the most picturesque road in Ceylon. The station is called Nanu Oya, it is 5.5 km from it to the city and the hotel. Ignore the taxi drivers and walk from the station forward and slightly up to the bus stop 746, which takes you to the city center in 20 minutes (the fare is 70 rupees, tukers asked for 1000). From the bus station we walked for half an hour, tukers ask for 400 (some even 700) for 2 km. I don’t know why there is a “hostel” in the name, because it is a guest house, in the back of which the owners live. On our visit, we were alone, a room with a private bathroom, there is a very nice shared kitchen with tea, dishes, where we cooked our breakfasts and dinners. In the description of the hotel on the trip it is written about the Internet ”contact the hotel”, there is Internet and it is normal, probably they made a mistake in the description. Despite the blanket on the bed, it does not help, it is very cold at night, on the second night I had to sleep in jeans and a sweatshirt, during the day it was +16, at night it seems to drop to 5-6. Who would have thought that you need to take fleece pajamas with you to Ceylon, like in England! It's good that I took slippers. The hotel is located far from the main road, so it is quiet here. True, in the mornings under the windows they either mowed the grass or repaired a motorcycle, I do not understand why this must be done at 6 am. No questions about cleanliness, no mold, apparently it is cold and there is an influx of air in the bathroom. I liked the hotel, a very nice family atmosphere, thanks to the owner.

Overall it's good, the view of the lake outside the window is beautiful. The location is easy to find, although it is also on the mountain, but the road conditions have improved. Rich breakfast and good service. Needs improvement: The lobby is old and even a little shabby. There is a primary school under the window, and the drums and trumpets start to sound at around six o'clock. If you see a monkey by the window in the morning, you should close the window in time. There is dirt on the sink that has not been cleaned for a long time.

The first time I tried the capsule apartment, the experience was not good. The lights were too dark in it, and I could n’t sleep but could n’t sleep well because the sound insulation was not very good. . Hygiene is average, there is no hot water, I will not try again in the future. Good place is very close to the station, there is a nice observation deck on the top floor, the scenery is very good
