2-Star Hotels in Veneto, Italy

"This hotel is right next to Mestre Station, the main station! It's about a 2-minute walk, and the path is easy to follow. Even in the middle of the night, it feels safe as long as you head straight back to the hotel. There's a supermarket called Ali? about 2-3 minutes away on foot, where you can buy various groceries. Since there's a kitchen, it seems like a good idea to cook. There are also many Chinese restaurants around the hotel, which might be a plus for Asian travelers. It's a very large hostel with 24-hour staff at the front desk. They kindly allowed an early check-in. There's a bar and a place to grab snacks, a very spacious common lounge, vending machines selling snacks and drinks (e.g., 500ml water for about €1.2, which is reasonably priced), and laundry facilities (washing & drying both cost €4, but it's not available 24 hours). After check-out, you're free to stay in the hotel's common areas. You can also store your luggage in the storage space at the front desk if it's available (a padlock is required). The train ride from the nearest Mestre Station to Venice proper takes about 5-10 minutes (usually one stop) and costs €1.5. The atmosphere is lively, with many students and young people. The rooms are accessed by an auto-locking key. There are 9 beds, and the luggage storage is spacious. There are 8 bunk beds and 1 regular bed. The beds are sturdy, and shaking isn't much of an issue. Each room has 3 sinks, 1 toilet, 2 shower rooms, and 1 hairdryer, so I didn't experience any inconvenience. I think the location, cleanliness, facilities, and service are all top-notch for a dormitory. I would definitely want to stay here again if I come to Venice. I highly recommend it, so if you're undecided, please give it a try."

"The location of this hotel is just around the corner from Piazza Bra or the Arena of Verona. There is also a big PAM supsemarket right at the start of the street 2mins away which we found very convenient for buying drinks and snacks. Roberto, the host/receptionist, was very very nice and explained everything to us including the wifi access etc. We even lucked out with a room with a balcony. It was a very nice stay, and I would recommend this to visiting Verona for a few days. The only downside is yhat there is no daily housekeeping. We stayed 4 nights without any room cleaning nor change of towels. However, Roberto shared his watsapp number with us, and I think new towels can be requested if needed. I will be happy to stay here again on our next visit!"

"The facilities of the hostel were great, especially the lounging area was comfortable enough to sit and wait if one had been early for the check-in time. However, when we checked into our room long after the official check-in time, the beddings of a bunk bed were not made. In fact, cover sheets and blankets of those beds were just laid there all messy and one even had holes in it (shown in the pictures provided below). That was not the only inconvenience, however. A fire alarm in the hostel had been activated at 3 am of August 11th randomly, which rang for at least two hours, but management and staff were not as competent when handling an emergency situation like that in my opinion. Guests of the hostel had to be waken up with a banging noise of alarm in the midst of their sleep and evacuated outside to stand still for 2 full hours with no explanation or compromisation. It has to be considered that all kinds of people are being hosted in this hostel, such as the elderly, the children, and also disabled people who cannot be put under that kind of stress and also deprivation of sleep. If compromisation of a late check-out was made with customers, it would at least compensate for the inconvenience it brought to people."

"From the outside, the hostel looks very charming — it’s a beautiful villa surrounded by flowers. Inside, however, it feels like a fairly standard hostel. The room was extremely hot, and there was only one fan available, which went to whoever claimed it first. The upper bunk had no safety rail, so there is a real risk of falling out during the night. Instead of a proper power outlet by the bed, there was only an extension adapter located below, meaning you have to leave your phone or other valuable devices out of sight while charging. There is only one toilet per room, and it seemed that most guests were assigned to the same dorm. As a result, there was always a queue for our bathroom while the bathrooms in other rooms remained unused. Finally, the “breakfast included” option was quite misleading. It consisted of coffee and a couple of dry biscuits. Had I known that this was the breakfast offered, I would have preferred to book a different hostel without breakfast included."
