2-Star Hotels in Tuscany, Italy

This is undoubtedly one of the best hostels I have stayed in in Italy and I’ll tell you what happened. Basically I was quite late to check in and checked in only at around 6:45 pm in the evening and initially the room I was offered had only upper beds left and all the lower berths had been occupied. Gaia at the reception was so kind  she actually looked up all the rooms available and suggested after almost looking up for 30 minutes as to where she could place me as I did not want to sleep on an apple bed she gave me another room which was room number 13 and I had originally booked for an eight bedroom but I paid a little bit extra to get into this four bedroom and I was very happy because the room was speaking span. There was ample space and bathroom and toilet was separate which meant it could be used by two people at the same time, conveniently, especially in the mornings when people are in a rush and the plug points were very ideally placed! I loved staying here and even paid €10 for a very fancy breakfast! I’d love to come here again.

We visited Hu Camping because it had the services we wanted whilst being really close to Florence. Check In could not have gone any easier. Really polite staff. We asked to upgrade our mobile home but there were none available until the end of the week. So we didn't bother. We drive to our home and noticed it was clean and well maintained. There were people gardening, cleaning all the time. Got to the mobile home and things were not ideal, utensils missing and a ladder to the bunk bed. We went to reception to ask about the missing things and the majority of what we needed was sent to us within an hour with huge apologies. It was an older mobile home but it was clean and ready for us to put our feet up. Having two bathrooms was really good with a family of 5. It was 37°C outside and the air conditioning worked well. We took a fan with us so it moved the air around a bit more. But we left it on during the day, with the interior doors open and the rooms were nice and cool. We used the restaurant, the service was really good and they were busy. It's a good idea to book. We had booked for 9pm and a couple were ahead of us in the queue when we arrived, they asked for a table and were told they'd have to wait 45 minutes. The food was tasty and fresh. Not overly expensive, considering some places nearby or other European cities. We used both pools, the kids one was a little cold but my boys (8, 13, 15) didn't care. Around the pool was clean and well maintained, there was enough shade if needed and a lovely olive grove section away from the pool for lots of shade. The pool bar was well equipped and the staff were friendly. The main pool was busy but people still had space to throw a ball or jump in. It's not there for doing lengths. The onsite shop was fine, it's not big, so we used it when we had to, otherwise there was a decent sized Coop not too far from the site (driving distance). The other bits were good, bike hire (although get there early), laundry services were great, the volleyball/football pitch needs updating but it was fine. The location is just outside the city. There was a bus to the centre from the campsite but we didn't use it. We drove and parked in underground parking in the city. All very easy. I had preconceptions about how it was going to be but I was really surprised with how good it was. And the staff were really polite and helpful. I would happily go back to visit it again.

Tonight is my last night in this hostel. I have been here for 2 weeks. The best I've ever seen. Very clean, everything works, many spaces where anyone can find his interest (sleeping, drinking, eating, playing music, taking a bath or studying... The shared kitchen area is well equipped and clean. And they propose a lot of activities. And if you are wondering why the yellow color of the hostel makes you in a good mood. I tell you a secret: It's Simonetta. She is the sun of this YellowSquare Firenze. A positive woman who makes everyone in a good mood every morning in the shared kitchen. She is the sun that gives this cheerful color to the hostel ❤️ The only negative point: I advise you to pay by card ; they have a big problem with the change. But this isn't a real handicap

This was my first hostel experience on my own and it was soooo good! I felt very safe, staff super friendly, the room and common areas had everything you could ever need! Locker in the room was huge... I had enough space to keep all my things safe, but you need to bring your own padlock (maybe the hostel could make that clear on the booking? although I was prepared, another lady in the room was not ;)). Location great, very close to station (but far enough away that it wasn't a problem....), very close to the sites, restaurants and bars. I would happily return to an Ostello Bello! Grazie

Easy access from airport to Fortezza metro. 2 mins walk to the sisters. Immaculate peaceful and welcoming. Yes it was /is a convent. The place says that. It’s Italy. Lovely warm cosy room with fab AC/ heating. Both. Great shower and bathroom Huge calm peaceful garden. Good coffee and breakfast provided. Note. In Italy they gave an Italian breakfast. Sisters are so lovely. Sing early morning. And evening. It’s like angels drifting everywhere with kindness and care. Wonderful location and on bus /tram route to everywhere. Airport. Station Absolutely recommend. And such a peaceful welcoming place.

I arrived after midnight as my flight was late and Matteo was right there to greet me with a huge smile - which was so nice to see a friendly face after a challenging trip! He made me feel so welcome and showed me around, made sure if I needed anything I would come see him. It felt like staying in a family home. There are beautiful stone flights of stairs up to the rooms (which are beautiful) - but I was not allowed to carry my suitcases up! Matteo and another lovely man insisted they carried them up for me which was so kind of them. Italians really are so chivalrous! I booked a private room with a bathroom. I walked in and was immediately amazed by the huge size! Super high ceilings, beautiful big windows in the bedroom and bathroom that open right out so you get a lovely breeze coming through. I liked sitting on the ledge, drinking my morning coffee watching everything happening down on the busy street below. Every night I slept with all the windows wide open and fell asleep listing to all the sounds below floating up from the city, with a lovely breeze - it was so nice! I didn’t need to use the aircon at all because the breeze was so nice! And the stone building stayed nice and cool. The room was spotless, and so clean, with plenty of fresh towels and toiletries to use. They have daily housekeeping, but I asked them not to worry about my room and I wasn’t there much (I was out all day exploring the beautiful city) There is a wardrobe room off the main bedroom with space to hang clothes and a set of drawers, with room to store your cases as well! It was so nice to have a place out of the main bedroom to keep your clothes so they don’t end up scattered around everywhere! The bathroom is clean and cosy, with a lovely view from that window also. The bed is so comfy, nice firm pillows, huge queensize bed, very clean and comfy sheets, there’s a TV, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Everything you need for a very comfortable stay! The whole place is just lovely! It really feels like such a traditional place to stay with so much character! It was so nice to come here after staying in tiny rooms in Paris and Zurich. I really like older places that have character and soul and this place has it in abundance! Plus all the staff are just amazing, special mention to Matteo (he worked the night shift) he always greeted me with a big smile and a ‘hello Jodi, tell me how was your day? What did you do?’ He made me feel so welcome and I felt very safe staying there. Matteo also was so happy to recommend good places to see, eat, gelato - he was very knowledgeable and kind. There is a communal kitchen which is handy if you want to cook/heat up something (not that you’d need to as the Mercato Food court is literally a 1 minute walk with heaps of delicious and well priced food options!) there is a drink machine and two gorgeous terraces to sit out in the sun and enjoy your coffee, do some reading or just hang out. I had a great 4-night stay at the hostel and the staff were super accommodating and friendly. Arrived early in the day and got a thorough tour of the building and facilities as well as a welcome map and some friendly chat and suggestions. Both staff members I spoke to had a very easy-going and natural manner that really made you feel welcome and the fully stocked kitchen and breakfast options were very generous and a nice touch for the days I had to set off early. Something i wasn't expecting - but was very happy about - was the full change of bedsheets and towels every day. Absolutely brilliant touch and at no extra charge. It's in a great location with an easy 5-10 minute walk into town and only a 3 minute walk to the train station. Also lot's of great dining options in the area too so i never had to go too far to pick up something great. Thanks for a great trip!

It was a very pleasant stay, although I didn't get to spend much time in the hotel as I was just in Florence for one night, breakfast was nice with variety of choices, staff were friendly and can speak English, room was clean, AC was working perfectly, everything including the duomo was in walkable distance (only like 10 mins walk to the duomo). I had to leave the room key to the reception everytime I leave the hotel which felt a bit strange at first, however apparently this is a norm there as my brothers who were staying at another hotel at the time had to do the same as well. Last but not least, you can have a fantastic view of the city at rooftop of hotel, especially nice to see the sunrise! Will definitely stay here again, highly recommended!

A few mosquitoes appeared in the room in the middle of the night, which seriously affected sleep and feeling. I reported it to the front desk the next day, but they didn't come to check or change my room. Later, I carefully searched for the reasons. It was due to cleaning or the previous residents did not close the windows tightly after opening them. When I checked in, the front desk staff did not give any prompts or reminders, and the service was not in place. In addition, the shower space is very small and uncomfortable. The only good thing is the location of the hotel and the view from the rooftop. In addition, the so-called panoramic room does not have the imaginary view. For tourists who want to experience the rooftop church, the above opinions are for reference.

This guest house is just a perfect little gem. I have been a few times now and I would keep on coming. The rooms are spacious clean and welcoming. Water and juice left in the room on arrival. Tea and coffee available 24/7. A small fridge and microwave in the hall should you need it. The bed is soft and clean. Large wardrobe available set in a perfectly white room. Bathrooms cleaned daily. Rooms available with or without private bathroom. Several express shops available to grab food and drink along with bars for nightlife. Myhe tower is approx 6 minutes walk. The station is around 10 minutes walk away. This place never fails me ! I love it. 🥰

The location is good, very close to the station. There are many restaurants nearby, including Chinese restaurants, and the prices are quite affordable in Italy. Although it scored a full 5 points, the internal facilities were average and overall lackluster.

This is a great place with a very welcoming and informative host. I arrived quite late and was given really detailed instructions about getting in. It’s perfectly located between the airport and the train station (about 10-15 minutes to each). It takes about 35-40 minutes to get to the tower. Shared facilities, but this is no problem as there are 3 bathrooms. So lovely to have a coffee machine in the room. And there is air-con!

Make sure you do the online check in, got very confusing when we got there as we hadn't, although the manager was on the telephone and came straight over to sort us out, he was extremely helpful. It is 2 minutes from the train station. Took us about 20 mins to walk to the Leaning Tower etc but very pleasant walk. Just over the road is a lovely piazza with quite a few bars and restaurants. We were only there for 2 nights. Quite basic, no coffee bar etc but everything is just outside. The room we had didn't quite match up to the photos but as it was just 2 nights we didn't mind. It was clean, the manager was very helpful so it served us very well.

Cause hospital hospitality of my wife,(the facility is only 300 mt. walk from S.Chiara Hospital) from Genova,I stayed alone in this facility from 24/1 to 29/1.Previa booking, Since no single room was available, I had a bedroom in one and a half square in the corner of the structure itself opposite the main road,so outside the noise of traffic, The hotel is family-run, where all staff meet your needs, the recent renovation and clean parfum are noticed both in the hall but above all in the room, The hotel does not have restaurant service,so it only makes overnight stay and breakfast(sufficient) and then I strongly advise you for those who want to visit the city because it is 300 mt from P.dei Miracles.

Hotel posizionato a 10/15 minuti a piedi da piazza dei miracoli in una zona molto tranquilla. Ambiente molto carino, giovane e moderno. Camera di dimensioni molto molto ampie dove su richiesta, è possibile usufruire anche della cucina (normalmente nascosta all'interno di un 'armadio'). Parcheggio gratuito di buone dimensioni. Note dolenti: Il frigo probabilmente viene gestito in combinazione con l'uso della cucina in quanto era vuoto. Per ognuno dei due giorni di soggiorno ho chiesto in reception una bottiglia d'acqua ma alla consegna ogni volta mi è stato detto: mi spiace ma l'ho appena messa in frigo e non è freschissima. Siamo a Luglio con 50° all'esterno!!! Bisogna organizzarsi meglio. Colazione da rivedere, siamo a livello di un 2 stelle non 3. Affettati: solo prosciutto cotto, un formaggio da toast ed un ottimo pecorino che però poco si addice alla colazione. Prosciutto cotto, formaggio da toast, così come cornetti decongelati, crostate e marmellate sono tutti prodotti da grande distribuzione, niente di locale e niente da hotel 3 stelle. Da bere, apparte l'acqua molto apprezzabile la spremuta d'arancia fresca. Il letto boh: materasso con sopra un topper inadeguato. Lenzuola belle, colorate ma corte per quel letto. Come al solito presa di corrente vicina ad un solo letto. Nel bagno manca il kit dei saponi. Inaccettabile in un 3 stelle.

Accurate picture fantastic host really helpful and kind to me. 45 min walk to town, follow the river it’s beautiful. I would definitely recommend;)

A wonderful place if you need to stay somewhere late at night after your flight🥺 Our flight was late, like - really really delayed and I was worried about our stay. The owner waited for us and welcomed us warmly, waiting for us to put our stuff down and calm down a bit. He showed us everything we needed to know, the place was quiet, we had some cold water to drink, prepared coffee for the morning and there was absolutely no problem for us to leave at 6.50 am as we needed to for our flight. The owner is extra nice, the place is very close to the airport and very nice- clean, there are towels, the breakfast is also great - you choose whatever you want to - there’s both cookies, chips, cereal, bread, pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt. Im just sorry we couldn’t stay longer and we needed to eat this in a hurry. We were a total mess that night (we were supposed to arrive at 12 am, we did nearly at 3 am, so we had just 3 hours of sleep left). Although, our stay was all we needed and we really enjoyed it. The area is also calm and pretty. Huge thanks to the owner and warm recommendation :) Również do turystów z polski, polecam bardzo ten obiekt, Pan był naprawdę wspaniały i nasz pobyt przebiegł bezproblemowo, milysmy wszystko czego nam trzeba. To takie urocze miejsce prowadzone przez rodzinę/starszego pana. Z tego powodu polecam nawet bardziej. Grazie mille❤️

Structure with simple furnishings, but absolutely in line with the price paid. Clean rooms, common baths clean a little date. The rooms are not air-conditioned (a ventilator is present on the ceiling), but since October it was very good. The owner was very professional and clear in the explanations. B&B often in the cause area comes back to night hours at the airport and this didn't seem bad. For a short stay, I advise you.

Note dolenti: Il frigo probabilmente viene gestito in combinazione con l'uso della cucina in quanto era vuoto. Per ognuno dei due giorni di soggiorno ho chiesto in reception una bottiglia d'acqua ma alla consegna ogni volta mi è stato detto: mi spiace ma l'ho appena messa in frigo e non è freschissima. Siamo a Luglio con 50° all'esterno!!! Bisogna organizzarsi meglio. Colazione da rivedere, siamo a livello di un 2 stelle non 3. Affettati: solo prosciutto cotto, un formaggio da toast ed un ottimo pecorino che però poco si addice alla colazione. Prosciutto cotto, formaggio da toast, così come cornetti decongelati, crostate e marmellate sono tutti prodotti da grande distribuzione, niente di locale e niente da hotel 3 stelle. Da bere, apparte l'acqua molto apprezzabile la spremuta d'arancia fresca. Il letto boh: materasso con sopra un topper inadeguato. Lenzuola belle, colorate ma corte per quel letto. Come al solito presa di corrente vicina ad un solo letto. Nel bagno manca il kit dei saponi. Inaccettabile in un 3 stelle.

Accurate picture fantastic host really helpful and kind to me. 45 min walk to town, follow the river it’s beautiful. I would definitely recommend;)

A wonderful place if you need to stay somewhere late at night after your flight🥺 Our flight was late, like - really really delayed and I was worried about our stay. The owner waited for us and welcomed us warmly, waiting for us to put our stuff down and calm down a bit. He showed us everything we needed to know, the place was quiet, we had some cold water to drink, prepared coffee for the morning and there was absolutely no problem for us to leave at 6.50 am as we needed to for our flight. The owner is extra nice, the place is very close to the airport and very nice- clean, there are towels, the breakfast is also great - you choose whatever you want to - there’s both cookies, chips, cereal, bread, pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt. Im just sorry we couldn’t stay longer and we needed to eat this in a hurry. We were a total mess that night (we were supposed to arrive at 12 am, we did nearly at 3 am, so we had just 3 hours of sleep left). Although, our stay was all we needed and we really enjoyed it. The area is also calm and pretty. Huge thanks to the owner and warm recommendation :) Również do turystów z polski, polecam bardzo ten obiekt, Pan był naprawdę wspaniały i nasz pobyt przebiegł bezproblemowo, milysmy wszystko czego nam trzeba. To takie urocze miejsce prowadzone przez rodzinę/starszego pana. Z tego powodu polecam nawet bardziej. Grazie mille❤️

Structure with simple furnishings, but absolutely in line with the price paid. Clean rooms, common baths clean a little date. The rooms are not air-conditioned (a ventilator is present on the ceiling), but since October it was very good. The owner was very professional and clear in the explanations. B&B often in the cause area comes back to night hours at the airport and this didn't seem bad. For a short stay, I advise you.
