"The hostel itself is decent and clean, but there are two major downsides worth mentioning. First, the socket placement is genuinely terrible. There are barely any conveniently located plugs near the top beds, which makes charging your phone or using devices really inconvenient, especially in shared dorms. Second, the location is not really good. The hostel is quite far uphill from the city centre, and walking back to the top is exhausting after a long day around Bath. It’s manageable, but definitely something to consider if you have luggage or don’t want a steep climb every time you return. Overall, okay for a budget stay, but the poor socket layout and inconvenient hilltop location would make me think twice before booking again."

"The Hotel itself is very dated in decor, but I actually enjoyed this and it felt quite nostalgic to me. If you're looking for cheap and cheerful and you're not overly fussy then this place will do you just fine. After all I wasn't here to spend all day in the room, but to go out and explore. There was coffee and tea, fresh towels, and I was left alone for the 2 nights I stayed which I appreciate. Some people enjoy the maid service, but personally I prefer not being bothered. From all the other reviews it mentioned a fee upon arrival as an insurance for damages, but I got asked for no extra fees, so I'm guessing this is based on the larger more valuable family type rooms maybe. If you are a solo traveler like myself then the location is brilliant, as it's right next to the main beach strip, a cool little local beach front cafe which is reasonably priced, and if you have the legs for it like me, a massive nature trek to explore full of beautiful forestry and greenery. The main shopping town and Italian gardens are only a short 15 minute walk away. If you are on a budget there's a wetherspoons just 5 minutes away which is very decent and has great sea views, staff were all lovely. Staff at the hotel were also very friendly if you approached or talked to them. Only negative I'd say is that you can't book in till 3pm, but there is plenty to keep you busy nearby whilst you wait. If you are fussy and expect the Ritz, this place ain't for you, but if you are there with a fair level head and you just want cheap lodgings, then it'll do you fine for a night or two. I'd definitely stay again for the cheap price of just over 30 quid a night. Thanks and I'll be back down the line 😎"

"This was an amazing hotel and after the hellish experience I’d had in travelling to Taunton and other things along the way this hotel was bliss. Nicky on the desk was a lovely person and made you feel like you were lifelong friends. My room was 29 and it had everything I needed. It was clean and bright and the bed was so cosy. There was even a fridge in it! There are kitchen areas on every floor with cookers, fridges and microwaves. I loved my stay and if I ever return to Taunton I’ll definitely go back there ❤️"

"I hadn't received the text message about the door code - and Trip.com had stated check in until 8pm, whereas the sign on the door stated 6pm. Luckily, the door was answered - although it took time to confirm my booking - otherwise I may have been entirely stuck. My bedside lamp wasn't working, although this was immediately replaced by the very helpful gentleman on duty. Comfortable bed, separate shared toilet and separate shared shower. Price was £46 for one night: would have been happier paying around £35 given the facilities on offer."
