"The hotel itself isn't bad. Just don't stay in room 205. Let me share my personal experience: our family arrived late that day, and it was almost 11 PM by the time we checked in and got to the room. I was unpacking my luggage when my wife went into the bathroom and found bloodstains all over the wall, from top to bottom. Coincidentally, the front desk guy came to deliver disposable towels, so we asked him what was going on. He was also shocked when he saw it, stammering that the cleaning staff might not have cleaned properly, but he confidently assured us that there was nothing wrong with the room. It was too late then, and we didn't want the hassle of changing to another room (we were tired from walking). Plus, even though I didn't go into the bathroom to look, I guessed it might have been caused by a mischievous child from the previous occupants splattering red paint on the wall, nothing serious, so we decided to stay. Then my wife said she used the showerhead to rinse off the bloodstains. After dinner, my wife and child went to bed first. I lay in bed playing with my phone until past midnight, then prepared to sleep. So I went to the toilet to pee and took a closer look at the wall – I didn't see any bloodstains. I thought to myself that my wife must have scrubbed it pretty clean (but later my wife told me that no matter how hard she scrubbed, she couldn't get rid of the bloodstains on the lower half of the wall. So why didn't I see any bloodstains on the entire wall then?). Afterwards, I lay down and struggled to sleep due to altitude sickness, probably falling asleep around 2:30 AM. As I drifted off, a huge green and black vortex suddenly appeared in my dream, conveying a message to me through consciousness: “You're finally asleep” (it really wasn't like a typical dream conversation, but an instantaneous transmission of consciousness!), and then it enveloped me instantly (in the dream, I was a small white sphere), and then I knew I was being controlled. Before my brain (consciousness) could even consider how to react, my body suddenly reacted, frantically cursing loudly and kicking and punching. My wife heard the commotion, jumped out of bed without bothering to put on her shoes, and desperately shook and shouted to wake me from my nightmare, and then she shook me awake... Of course, this might just have been a nightmare I had due to altitude sickness or lack of rest. But there are two mysteries I still can't explain: (1) Why could my wife and the front desk guy see the bloodstains on the wall, but I couldn't? (2) In previous dreams, if I ever spoke a word or moved my body, I would immediately wake up. But this time, my consciousness was very clear, but my body simply couldn't wake up. It relied entirely on external intervention (my wife's vigorous shaking and shouting) to pull me out of the enveloping vortex. And my wife later told me that in all our years of marriage, she had never seen me curse so loudly or kick and punch with such intensity while sleeping. The hotel owner, reading this, must be thinking, “Which competitor sent this person to screw with me?” Don't jump to conclusions yet. I suggest you do the following: (1) Go to the bathroom in room 205 and see if there are any bloodstains on the wall. If you can't see them, it means your probability of being “affected” is quite high. I recommend you stay in that room alone for one night (make sure to sleep on the bed next to the bathroom); (2) Check the surveillance footage around room 205 at 2:35 AM on July 31st. I was screaming at the top of my lungs in my dream at that time, and I believe everyone around could hear it; (3) Check the surveillance footage around 3:20 AM. That's when my family hurriedly packed our luggage, murmuring 'Namo Amitabha', and fled room 205 in a panic (we drove straight into Tacheng Town and found a newly opened hotel). "💰At 47 RMB, I stayed in a hostel in Lhasa with underfloor heating, and I'd definitely choose to stay in a Shangri-La hostel again – it was a great experience. When I arrived in Lhasa, I also wanted to try out different hostels in different cities. I had stayed at a Pingcuo Kangsang hotel in Bomi, so I decided to try their hostel first in Lhasa. The location is excellent, very close to Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace; I walked to both. Across the street is a modern shopping mall, Shenli Times Square, where you can browse and buy things. There are also plenty of dining options nearby. The hostel facilities are comprehensive, with a canteen and a decent breakfast. They also offer tour services with ******* drivers from a travel agency. In the evenings, there are singing performances, and guests are welcome to participate. There's also a very well-behaved dog. I chose a triple room, which had underfloor heating and a humidifier. The room was quite spacious and very clean. Each bed has a corresponding locker for storage, though they don't have locks. The room has an en-suite bathroom, and the vanity allows for two people to use it simultaneously. Toiletries and disposable towels need to be picked up at the front desk. The door is controlled by Bluetooth, which is very smart. There's no key card, so you don't have to worry about forgetting it, and security is well-assured. 💡The price is a bit higher than other hostels in Lhasa, but I really like this one. Prices can fluctuate, so it's worth checking the platforms frequently; sometimes, booking several consecutive nights offers a better price per night."

"I visited the base camp a few years ago, and back then it was still just tents set up by Tibetans. Coming back this year, it far exceeded my expectations; the facilities have been greatly improved. "Have Lhasa hotel prices gone down? The hotel we stayed at was really affordable. Even though it's not on a main street and parking is tight with limited spots, we felt very comfortable and safe. During the day, we'd go sightseeing; bus route 24 right outside takes you directly to Zaki Monastery, Sera Monastery, and Drepung Monastery. The owners are friendly, always giving us an extra one or two bottles of water in addition to the standard two. They also have a great driver who helped us park perfectly.
