Harbin Central Avenue/Saint Sophia Cathedral/The Memorial Tower of Fig
If you're planning to visit the Harbin Ice and Snow World, remember to purchase spikes at the counter (8 YUAN). It's affordable and can prevent falls and injuries. Unfortunately, I slipped on the ice and badly hurt my ankle. Luckily, there's a nearby hospital, Harbin Shengfeng Hospital, just a 10-15 minute walk away (you can use Google Maps). The doctors there are helpful, but they don't speak English, so bring your passport and use Google Translate if needed. On a brighter note, I really enjoyed staying at this hostel. They have a large mirror and a hot water station where you can prepare instant noodles. Although they don't have a kitchen, you can easily get utensils and a mug from nearby convenience stores, especially if you're planning to make coffee. One thing I found really convenient was the international charger ports provided for each bed. Before checking out, remember to strip your bed and leave a note in the lobby to indicate your presence. I left a Malaysian flag as my mark.

The room is very clean and tidy, the boss is very welcoming, and the room is super warm! I came to Erbin by myself and lived very comfortably. It's very close to Jiangbei University Town subway station, and it's very convenient to get to attractions. There are also many places to eat around!

A very good express hotel, just the way I like it, clean and refreshing. I booked a double room, which was not big but enough. The best thing is that although the room is at the end of the corridor, it is not like some express hotels that have to walk a long distance, but it is very safe and comfortable to reach the elevator. The room soundproofing and sanitary facilities are very satisfactory. And it is also very convenient to book and check out. The room is on a big road called Maimai Street, which is convenient for transportation. It is adjacent to the First Hospital and there are food a few steps away. Here are a few pictures, the first one is outside the hotel window, and the second one is the ice sculpture of the nearby Zhaolin Park.

Harbin Central Avenue/Saint Sophia Cathedral/The Memorial Tower of Fig
I love the location of this hostel. It was just right across the Zhongyang Street subway stop (Line 2). If you go to the Ice and Snow World Park, that's only three stops away for only, if I remember right, RMB 2. Make sure to read/check the other reviews for photos of the gate that will lead you to the door of this hostel. I arrived in the morning, about 10 a.m., and was welcomed by JP. After sorting out my things, I left my luggage to head to the Ice and Snow World Park where I stayed until 5 p.m. I took the subway back to Zhongyang Street. I planned on walking from there to Saint Sophia Cathedral but it was too cold for me. I live in Beijing but I am originally from the Philippines so even if I was dressed warm - thermal clothes, hot packs, several layers, downjacket, scarves, beanies, ear muffs - it was still brrrr cold! I took a Didi car from there to the cathedral and spent about 30 minutes there and then went back to the hostel. There was a social night going on downstairs but I was so beat that day I just decided to rest. I briefly interacted with a lady from Singapore named Megan. The following day, I walked from the hostel to Hongzhuan Morning Market which is a culture of its own. Come hungry and happy! From there, I took a Didi to go to the No. 6 factory of Harbin Pharmaceutical Group Holding Co. It is dubbed as the ”Louvre of the East” but having visited the Louvre itself, it doesn't really come close. I think the moniker just came from the fact that there are several paintings and art collection in the building and the area outside feels a bit like you're in Europe. Another Didi ride got me to Lao Daowai or the Chinese Baroque Street then another Didi to Central Street. Don't miss these two as they are filled with worthy buildings and spots to marvel, photograph of or buy trinkets from. Harbin was the last stop of my northeastern China winter sojourn. Will I come back? Maybe. Will I stay in this hostel? Maybe. I like the arrangement of the beds in this 16-people dorm for girls but the bathroom is a squat toilet and I don't like that. If I ever stay here again, I will choose the rooms with Western-style toilets.

The room is very clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm, not as stiff as traditional hotels. After strolling in the evening, I came back and closed the curtains, ate supper and watched a movie, and nestled comfortably on the sofa. The self-service check-in is very friendly to people with social phobia 😁, saving the tediousness of going to the front desk to check in. ps: What is surprising is that it is equipped with a disposable toilet cover, which is very detailed and warm! Thumbs up!!! I will come again next time if I have the chance!

The room is clean and tidy with no smell Sanitary facilities are very good. It’s just that the contact is not very convenient. It is very difficult for some older people to add WeChat! It would be better if there are eye-catching signs in the lobby to facilitate check-in.

I had a wonderful stay. The staff were kind and supportive, making the experience even better. The place was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with all essential amenities, including a washing machine and dryer (free). The location was perfect, right in the heart of Zhongyang Street.

Staying in this B&B this time is really an unexpected blessing. Just like Mark Twain said: ”The human mind is amazing. As long as you focus on a certain cause, you will definitely do something that will surprise you.” ”I think the proprietress of this B&B knows this very well, and she focuses on running the business and keeping the place in order. Stepping into the room, the cleanliness is beyond imagination. The bed is as flat as ironed brocade, the sheets are as white as snow, the floor is so clean that people can be reflected, and there is not a trace of dust in every corner. It feels really safe to live here. This proves the saying ”If you don't clean one house, how can you clean the world?” If you can't even clean the room, how can you give guests a high-quality experience? This B&B is the best. The proprietress is the ”golden sign” of the B&B. She always has a smile like the warm spring sun on her face, and she is so enthusiastic that she can dispel the fatigue and haze of travelers. No matter what problems she encounters or small requests, she responds quickly. It’s like having Doraemon’s magical pocket, able to handle everything properly. She also enthusiastically shares surrounding travel tips, and her professionalism is as professional as that of a senior tour guide. It’s hard to find a B&B with such excellent service and high cost performance even with a lantern. There is no doubt that it will be my best choice for future travels. As the ancients said, ”The aroma of wine is not afraid of deep alleys.” I believe that it will also be able to attract more tourists from all over the world with its excellent quality. I sincerely recommend it to all travelers. !

The host and everyone there were so warm and welcoming. Very nice to my kids, they even let my kids borrow their snow toy for them to enjoy in the snow outside the room. Love the family room, got projector so we had winter movie night. The driver Mr Li was cheerful and so kind to bring us to the local convenience store, and recommended place for ice tubing and snow activities, he also brought us to one of the halal/muslim food which was abt 25mins drive away. The apartment is so beautiful and exceptionally Recommended place.
