We visited for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we enjoyed the experience. The service was very good and the food was tasty and visibly attractive. The amuse-bouches were a nice touch - small pockets containing a cockle-based mousse, served on a bed of cockle shells.I enjoyed the mixed meat pie as an appetiser, while my wife enjoyed the calde verde soup that was partly put together at the table by the waiter. We both enjoyed the veal as a main course - tender and perfectly cooked. Our daughter appreciated the variety of vegetarian options and enjoyed the tofu dish as a main course. This is a small restaurant (50 seats) inside the Pestana Hotel, which occupied a converted textile mill on the bank of the Douro River. The high, decorated ceilings contribute to a nice ambiance. The restaurant adds a 10% service charge to the bill, but it was stressed to us that this is only a suggestion. An enjoyable evening and we will return.
