The food was good, especially the Foie gras that one of us had for appetiser. The vegetarian menu would need more creativity. The beef was fine as was the duck. The fish on the other hand was excellent. We chose a bottle of Saumur wine which was very good. The big drawback, is the service. It&#39;s hard to tell if the staff is inexperienced or simply just unmotivated or bored. One person in our group doesn&#39;t drink wine and asked for water. It took 45 minutes to get the carafe on the table and only after we asked for a second time.

We went to this restaurant for a family meal out whilst staying in the area. The whole experience was excellent. The venue and Terrace with view over the city and Chateau were excellent. The food was very good value, my wife and I had one of their set menus. The only thing that could be improved was the kids menu as there was not as much choice. 2 dishes (steak or fish) but both were cooked well and tasty. Overall we had the best and most special meal of our holiday here. Highly recommended.

Lovely ambience and great service - we visited for lunch in the middle of a winter week, so the worst time possible&hellip; food was lovely though quite rich. A good find in the middle of Charentes.

It&#39;s a while since I  visited this restaurant and some of the personnel had changed.  However the service was excellent and the food was as good as always. I would highly recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner tonight. The waiter was very conscientious and informative about the meal choices. His English was perfect. The presentation of the food and the quantity was excellent. The quiet dinner music and overall ambiance was lovely. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting the area.

Very enjoyable meal.  We were settling for 2 courses until we saw the desserts come past!The maitre de and other staff were very helpful in explaining the options.  Food first class.

Visited here for Birthday lunch, really nice food,gear service and lively atmosphere. It was busy but still felt very relaxed.

Quaint restaurant in a quiet area. Good service and small but good menu. We loved everything about our meal and would recommend it.

The only restaurant to be at on new year&#39;s eve. Thanks for the great atmosphere, delicious food and wine recommendations.
