Cafe Brandpunt

The city is quite dead on NYE. so it was nice to find this restaurant open. The drinks (cocktails) were amazing and well priced. The portions of the main course are quite large, which is great. The flavors were nor as great as we expected, but we were still happy with the meal.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of the dishes, we had a great meal. The service and atmosphere were great. There was nice music but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. I will definitely come back here again!

Simple menu, very nice staff who did their best to please you (like getting oat milk from the neighbors). Food was also fine.

Today we closed the week here before Tilburg Zingt, an ode to the king and Tilburg. Despite the nice weather, the terrace is not full. Too bad we have to eat inside. What we get is ok. I take - as almost always - the weekly special. This time a bunny roll with pulled meat served with coleslaw and fries. The chef does his best to not only cook tasty, but also healthy. Kudos. It tastes great to me and the portion is generous. My love eats satay with fries and vegetables. The coconut gives it a delicious twist, I taste it as a bit like her beetroot. We drink a good glass of Westmalle dubbel and tripel Karmeliet with it. Too bad we couldn't sit outside.

We go for a quick bite to eat at Brandpunt. We both take the weekly dish, chicken burger with sriracha sauce and drink a westmalle dubbel with it. The chicken burger is very big, nicely breaded and the vegetables are hidden in it. With fries and a bowl of mayo. When we have finished the burger, we are satisfied. The terrace outside is quite full despite the rain, but if you make a reservation via the Fork, you have to sit inside. That is what we would have chosen anyway. Eating in the dirty second-hand tobacco smoke does not appeal to us. It is quite empty inside. It could have been cozier.
