Accommodation Recommendation: Stay in the county! Stay in the county! Stay in the county! There are many hotels in the county; chain hotels are cleaner and more reliable.
Transportation: If you can ride an electric scooter, rent one. It seems like electric scooters are the official mode of transportation in Pingtan (not really), especially during holidays when traffic is very congested.
(Small tip: Don't rent electric scooters near Longwangtou Beach. Go further out; it'll be much cheaper. For example, there are many places to rent electric scooters above the Tanshi Fried Buns shop on Xihang Road, much cheaper than below.)
What to Eat: Hongxing Seafood Stall (seafood is selected on the spot, very fresh; highly recommend the stir-fried crab with scallions and ginger 🦀, very sweet and delicious), Maoji Seafood Claypot Porridge (okay), Abu'er Taiwanese Stir-fry (three-cup chicken 🐔 was good, but a bit salty; I don't remember much about the other dishes). Unfortunately, I didn't get to try Feipo Feizai Seafood Stall (too many people queuing). The local passion fruit was delicious and sweet; I bought a lot to bring back from Chengdu.

We arrived in Pingtan around 6 PM. Dinner was at Dali Mingji Seafood Chicken Soup Hot Pot. The chicken was very tender and the soup was delicious. That was about it. If you're going, you can order the set meal with more chicken! (No photos, just a casual look, haha). The next day, you can probably tell from the pictures that we didn't sleep in the car 🚗. We opted for a hotel to freshen up and sleep—so comfortable, haha! The hotel's price and environment definitely met our expectations for value! I highly recommend this hotel. We originally booked a double room, but because the door lock wouldn't engage, we contacted the front desk and they upgraded us to a twin room with a sea view. The room was much larger and had a sea view. The room was quite new, recently renovated, and still at the original price! Very worthwhile! 🏨See the last picture! For breakfast, we ordered Han's Fried Buns (the fried buns and tofu soup were delicious!). After getting up, we went to Mao Ji Seafood Claypot Porridge for lunch! Delicious! Upon entering the shop, you first choose your congee, then you can select some Cantonese dim sum near the counter before paying and waiting for your meal. The food takes a bit long to arrive, but the prices are reasonable. The weather in Pingtan has been quite nice lately, with plenty of sunshine, though it's also cloudy, making it feel a bit overcast. However, this doesn't detract from the beauty of the sea changing colors. The wind is incredibly strong, so anyone visiting recently should definitely wear a hat or a hooded jacket! I highly recommend a road trip in Pingtan. Although many online guides mention numerous attractions, we only visited the northern route. It seems like you can reach all of them along the most beautiful island ring road. I highly recommend Jingsha Beach; it's great for taking photos. We didn't go to the southern route because we figured the seaside would be similar to the northern route, and also because the wind was too strong! So we decided to head to Quanzhou next! We'll definitely come back to Pingtan in the future! Pingtan can only be described in person; the wind was strong, but it was beautiful—the charm of the sea!

"When the winds of the East China Sea whip up fluorescent blue waves, summer begins on Pingtan Island. Here, there's no hustle and bustle of Sanya, but instead, a sea of windmills reminiscent of a Miyazaki Hayao anime; seafood stalls costing around 30 yuan per person, and you might just stumble upon a romantic scene straight out of the movie 'Tears'... The latest real-world travel guide for 2025 will unlock the secrets of this island closest to Taiwan!" 1. Transportation Avoidance Guide - ✈️ **Main Transportation**: Fuzhou Changle Airport → Pingtan Bus (50 yuan/person) Saves over 200 yuan compared to a taxi. - 🚗 **Island Travel**: Rent an electric scooter for 80 yuan/day (choose a 200km range, otherwise you'll run out of power halfway!) - 📍 **Attention for Drivers**: The ring road from Beigang Village to Changjiang'ao is a one-way street; avoid peak hours! **2. Must-Visit Spots (with Photo Opportunities)** - 🌅 **Changjiang'ao Windmill Fields**: Photograph the Orange Sea and black reefs at 5 PM (wear a white dress for amazing photos!) - 💧 **Blue Tears Peak Season**: From April to June, during southerly winds, Tannan Bay No. 7 Beach is less crowded and offers better photo opportunities. - 🏮 **Houyan Island**: 68-nautical-mile landmark + red S-curve road; drone views instantly transform it into "China's Jeju Island". - 🦀 **Elephant Trunk Bay Beachcombing**: 2 hours before low tide, bring a rake and bucket (local fishermen share their secrets for digging razor clams). **3. Local Hidden Gems** - 🚤 **Uninhabited Island Adventure**: Dongxiang Island (filming location for "Where Are We Going, Dad?"), charter a boat for 300 NTD for an octopus fishing experience. - 🏡 **Stone House B&B**: Recommended "Dulv·Cross-Strait Art B&B," lie down and watch the stars while listening to the waves. 🍜 **Night Market Code**: The Stadium Road Night Market opens at 9 PM. Don't buy "Good Fortune" oyster omelets at tourist attractions! **4. Foodie Radar** - 📍 **Thirteen Sister's Salty Rice**: Intangible cultural heritage snack, 10 yuan/serving of juicy oyster filling. - 📍 **Mao Ji Seafood Claypot Congee**: Freshly caught shrimp and crab, 40 yuan per person until you're stuffed. - ⚠️ **Avoidance List**: Oyster omelets near tourist attractions often use too much starch; look for the old lady's roadside stall! **5. Hidden Gems** - Tannan Bay Luxury Campsite: Book in advance for beach BBQ + open-air movie - Northern Ecological Corridor: Take stunning photos of the windmills and cliffs from the F3 viewing platform - Pingtan International Performing Arts Center: Free Min Opera performances are frequently held on weekends --- On the way back, the driver chuckled and said, "The wind in Pingtan only blows twice a year, and each time it blows for half a year." Perhaps it is this unrestrained sea breeze that makes summer here forever vibrant. (Screenshot from the guide available.
